Fair enough, but I think you’d see the same mishaps if another CB came in and filled in for Saliba/Gabriel every so often. Takes a lot of time to build up the trust required to play this kind of football. Part of me thinks the whole 2 goalkeepers thing was just PR anyway to keep Ramsdale...

But playing out from the back comes from an understanding with your defence that needs to be maintained. Can’t just drop a keeper in once every 20 games and then ask them to keep the same fluidity the defence have with Raya, regardless of concentration. Should've either went all in with Raya...

Fucking hell what is Rambo doing there. Had a defender to play out too as well. I’ve said it all along you pick a number 1 and stick with it. Hard to drop a keeper into the side and then expect them to just pick up as normal

The numbers comparison for me nicely illustrates that we’ve went from being a dangerous 2 man team, to just a dangerous team full stop. I don’t think anyone thinks Haji and Simms will go on to be £100 million strikers like Gyo, but that they don’t need to be with a balanced squad behind them.

My biggest worry this season was replacing Gyo/Gus’ goals/contributions. The fact only 5 teams (3 of whom were strong PL relegated teams) have out scored us after 37 games is a massive win for our recruitment.

With a squad of players we actually own too. This is heaven compared to most of our other championship seasons.

We’ve also got two 6ft3 strikers to battle for it aswell

Every game In this league that’s not Rotherham has the potential to be a banana skin, both Ipswich and Leicester only won 2-1 here. I’ll take it, you need wins like this to be successful.
