There are 18 wards in Coventry each with 3 councilors. 1/3rd of these 54 seats are up on May 22nd. The current council is 43 Labour - 11 Tory. It is not clear cut that all 43 of the existing Labour candidates are "against" negotiation and similarly it doesn't stand to reason that 11 Tories...

They could get an economic impact assessment of not having CCFC playing in the City and work out how many hundreds of thousands in lost revenue not having the football club within the City would cause... it's absurd that it has not already been done. At that point they will quickly realise that...

First up with control of the council I am sure there is something that could be done without "giving" SISU the asset. They have already stated a 125yr lease is acceptable. I am sure with a little effort the stadium and arena could be separated for example...it is not like the stadium is...

Although I haven't watched the TV coverage, the guy on the pitch was, in my opinion not that bad. Ran on with a plain white tshirt with Keep Cov In Cov etc messages in sky blue. Stayed in the middle of the Arsenal half clapping all 4 sides of the pitch and bowing to the fans. Clearly wasn't...

I read somewhere that unless the profit is over a certain amount that all profits have to be used to pay down the mortgage... but to answer the question I cannot think of any other reason to charge such high rent other than to line their own pockets - it is what a for-profit company does.
