I’m sorry - did you consider my question about whether you had any sympathy with trans people who wanted to take part in women’s sport to be misogynistic?

You can’t justify a player’s place in the team based off one statistical category. Palmer may be great at through balls, but he’s sorely lacking in so many other departments.

Well clearly other people feel differently about how strictly the category definitions are applied when it comes to gender specifically. And I don’t know if I agree that every trans person looking to play sport at a grassroots level is looking to “force their way” in, or doing so to displace...

Which is all fair enough. Do you have any sympathy for trans women (or whatever terminology you’d use), or do you think there are ever any exceptions? The numbers of people involved seem tiny, so curious if you think there could be any way to compromise without shutting them out entirely.

I want to hear her perspective which is why I’m asking her the questions, if you’d just settle down for a second.

I can see the merits in excluding those with a biological advantage from the highest competitive levels of a sport - even if I think the cases are going to be extremely rare, it makes sense to preserve competitive integrity. But at the grassroots level?

No, as I said, there are no easy solutions to this - though apparently you think otherwise. I thought you were against policing threads, or does your desire to chase me around the forum trump that?

Personally I think it might be quite difficult to integrate people who to all intents and purposes present as women to slot straight into a men’s team, use the men’s changing rooms etc I don’t have the strong feelings on this topic that others do, but let’s not pretend there are easy solutions...
