I think he could well get a £25k/wk contract, but it will be at a team who can probably afford to pay that to several players without having to worry about cutting back elsewhere, and them’s the breaks. We can’t afford to pay market value to every player that we’d like to sign.

Personally I think the affordability of the wage bill is quite relevant to what we have or haven’t offered O’Hare, but ok.

Well yes, in the same way that crosses which are fast and accurate are good, whereas ones that are slow and don’t go anywhere near your own players are bad. There’s nothing inherently wrong with keepers playing it short, and most keepers these days do.

There are plenty of teams whose keepers play it short even more often than we do. Most teams are going long less than a third of the time. It’s basically the standard way of playing in this division now.
