More concerned with Bobby Thomas lunging in AGAIN and getting nowhere it. He was still on his hands and knees inside the Sunderland half by the time the ball went in!
He would never have been expecting a shot at that moment and it left his boot at incredible speed. It was one of the best goals we’ll concede all season.
I don’t see anything wrong with our GK coaching. For some reason our manager (and fans) decided to completely write off two keepers off the back of a handful of errors.
Both keepers on the pitch today looked like perfectly solid #1 options for a Championship side, and yet we’ve bombed both of them out for no real reason. Completely baffling how we’ve handled the GK situation over the past couple of years.
Collins 7 MOTM Two excellent saves kept us in the game
Thomas 5 Useless on the ball and caught out completely for their second
Binks 5 Long range passing is fine but sloppy short game
Kitching 6 The only CB I actually trust on the ball
MVE 5 Not really a standout player at RWB...
Rudoni doesn’t play with anything like the intensity of O’Hare, we have no-one capable of linking the play at speed. He’s got a great delivery on him but I don’t see what he offers beyond that.
We’re playing a system that neuters some of our best attacking threats (MVE and Wright) and exposes the shortcomings of others. The midfield three are all in roles they’re completely incapable of playing.
There was no setup - organisationally we were a shambles. It’s why what Robins and Badlan achieved here was so impressive. Great while it lasted, but not exactly a recipe for success.
Well we don’t have a ton of evidence to go on. I personally think the playing staff and then the manager are what decides our fortunes more than anything. The amount of influence people are attributing to individual coaches seems crazy to me but I suppose we’ve got to blame someone.
What’s the point you’re making? That a coaching staff consisting of Mark Robins, Adi Viveash and Dennis Lawrence was a generational powerhouse that could never be bettered and would have inevitably delivered promotion?
The setup during the bulk of the MR era was non-existent, and what coaches we did have were also mostly no-marks at senior Championship level. Which is totally fine if you’re seeing results out of it, but if you’re not?
Frank Lampard as manager? I think the jokey press conferences alone would end up making me want to Talk to Frank hahaha
But on a serious note, I don’t want him here
