    Keepers

Lampard and the coaching staff clearly see him as the superior keeper of the two. I understand the urge to banish a keeper after a bad error but it doesn’t necessarily make him unplayable.

Match Thread Coventry City - Burnley FC Match Thread - Saturday 5th Apr

I agree, but ball retention is supposed to be his thing. I hope it’s not the kind of mistake that will be repeated, otherwise I’m not sure what he’s here for.

Match Thread Coventry City - Burnley FC Match Thread - Saturday 5th Apr

Look, despite the nonsense from Collins, Kitching and Grimes today (plus the ref…), I thought we gave the team that’s currently top of the league a pretty good game. And I actually feel more confident about potentially playing them in the playoffs then I did this morning.

Match Thread Coventry City - Burnley FC Match Thread - Saturday 5th Apr

Look, obviously Collins stunk the place out today, but it’s one thing for your backup goalkeeper to make errors. It’s another thing for your £4.5m CB and your £3.5m captain-in-waiting to fuck up as well. Too many mistakes from players who I expected better of.

    Worst ever referee?

Corruption is dumbass talk - it was a classic case of a ref getting a big early call wrong (our goal was miles offside) and then massively overcompensating to try and even it out.

    Keepers

He fucked up the first goal and then it was a horrendous mix-up with Kitching for the second. Maybe I’m just too forgiving, but I think you have to see if he can get a grip in the next game and see if he can be the keeper we need him to be with this system. The alternative is punting him off...

    Worst ever referee?

Usually stick up for referees but this one was truly appalling. Absolutely zero control. Brilliant that Lampard gave him both barrels at the end.

Is that a big priority for Netflix? For Jack Thorne and Stephen Graham? Just trying to understand where this “massive propaganda campaign” is coming from.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Critics are foolishly writing off my new policy of thumping myself in the face with a saucepan after just two days. Only this way will we learn if concussions are indeed reversible.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I mean, it’s pretty obviously going to win a ton of awards. From an acting and a technical perspective it was mental. Episodes 1 and 3 were particularly good imo.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

They are obviously different (as I said) but they’re both ultimately dramatisations inspired by real-life events. There’s no reason why well researched and/or thoughtful fiction can’t inspire policy and there’s a long history of it doing so.

I’m not muddling them, I’m taking them in aggregate. Yes, there are manufacturing communities that have been hollowed out; there are also hundreds of millions of American consumers living to a standard that is the envy of most western countries, let alone the places where the manufacturing jobs...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Many jobs have indeed been outsourced to China etc - meanwhile the products themselves have been sold on to the ever-richer American consumer at inflated prices, with the profits being banked - in dollars! - by American companies and shareholders. And yet you think it’s the United States being...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Collectively, the United States has enriched itself via globalisation more than any other country on earth. On average its people enjoy both wealth and a standard of living that is enviable to most other western countries, and unimaginable in the rest of the world. The notion that the United...
