An absolutely bizarre appointment really, as each of the last three they've made have been. I bet Dennis Lawrence is a bit pissed off.

Match Thread Shef Utd - Coventry City Match Thread Wednesday 25th Feb 19.45 KO

Having watched the Sheffield derby I'm more confident that we can get 3 points here

Do the numbers flatter one of our strikers?

Wright is a better all round player and we look a more cohesive attacking team with him in it.

Tactically - Lampard is pretty good

I think at their level it is probably more likely to be a factor than an ordinary person in a 9-5 job due to the impact it has on vO2 max. At their level even the smallest impact can be quite noticeable in a match.

Tactically - Lampard is pretty good

But he did tweak them in that Oxford game when Onyeka wasn't playing. The change would have happened regardless, Onyeka will just help to execute it better.

Tactically - Lampard is pretty good

It's also the general antipathy English football fans have towards any decorated player becoming a manager.

    10 more wins does it

1.86pts also happens to be the average under Lampard since he was appointed.

    10 more wins does it

We didn't show a lot of attacking intent because we didn't need to, we were 2-0 up. We've learnt from having thrown away leads in previous away fixtures by getting caught on the break.

Tactically - Lampard is pretty good

The point LG was trying to make that Lampard isn't good tactically based on cherry picking of an at worse indifferent period of form which he exaggerated to be worse than it really was. Further to that, in doing so also ignoring that Lampard got the team into record breaking form in the first place.

Tactically - Lampard is pretty good

The last two games are automatic promotion form, and more importantly the last 33 are.
  17. fernandopartridge

Tactically - Lampard is pretty good

It is exaggerated though because it is compared with a run of unbelievable and unsustainable form
  18. fernandopartridge

Tactically - Lampard is pretty good

The longest run we've had without a win is three games, this "fall off" is an exaggeration and ignores the great form shown by Middlesbrough particularly and Ipswich in that period. Our record breaking form was never realistically going to continue indefinitely, a lot of people on here were...

Yeah can see the similarity for the fairly long run and strike, it also reminded me of the Lee Hurst goal at Blackburn in the 5-2 win in 1993
