Why do it the easy way when you can make everyone sweat first?! Champions don't lay down and die, and Djokovic is a champ. Some seriously good tennis has been played by both men.

Two sets up in the US Open final. C'mon Andy!

Chesterfield to snatch Coventry managers targets

I'd class him as a recycled old name

    Win averages for potential managers

Not necessarily according to Waggott, quoted in the CT.

    Win averages for potential managers

I can. Too many people on here seem to only want to consider big names that have been sacked at least once before. Morrell has a 62 per cent win rate, according to Soccerbase.

Or is it simpler to use 16 letters instead of 19? ;)

Chesterfield to snatch Coventry managers targets

Looking at those Sky Bet odds, I've not noticed Micky Mellon's name mentioned before. Had to look him up. Wikipedia tells me he's Fleetwood's manager and has a 52.88 per cent win ratio from more than 200 games. Bury are also being linked with some interesting names. More interesting than some of...

Sorry, I don't mean to pick on you Colonel, but I'm fed up of hearing this phrase. Isn't it just simpler and easier on the ear to say "the best win record" or something?

Why would you go down the Villa? Surely that'd be like asking for seconds of school cabbage?

Bye Coventry thanks for the memories

In the '90s we only really sold out Highfield Road when the Man Utds, Liverpools and Arsenals of the world came to town. The extra revenue from what is now a once in five season game (I.e. depending on cup ties) really does not seem worth the pain selling off Highfield Road has caused this club.

    Brendan Rodgers

Wouldn't it be good if we could have a manager who has a plan and can talk about tactics like this? http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2012/09/transcript-the-brendan-rodgers-interview/

"I don't know what to say, really. Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives. All comes down to today, and either, we heal as a team, or we're gonna crumble. Inch by inch, play by play. Until we're finished. We're in hell right now, gentlemen. Believe me. And, we can stay...

Bye Coventry thanks for the memories

If I remember correctly, there were figures being banded around back then along the lines of "new stadiums produce a 50% boost in attendance" and being used to justify the move. The problem was people were comparing apples and pears. The 50% figure was skewed by clubs like Sunderland, which got...

    Time for coffee

I've been thinking something similar Otis. I admit there was a moment pre-season when I thought it might just come together this season - though at the same time I also said it might go horribly wrong. (I wasn't sitting on the fence, I was sitting both sides of it simultaneously, which is...

New Manager Shortlist down to 9

As Stevo said, was anyone submitting what sounded like serious lists of the nine doing so with any real knowledge or just guessing?

Who should be the new manager? - Poll update.

If Redknapp or Curbishley decided they wanted to take on the challenge of getting Coventry up with no budget, the existing coaching staff and on a similar pay packet (I assume) to Thorn I would welcome them. I just can't see it happening though. I don't object to your suggestion of Curbishley...
