Transfer Rumour 25/26 Summer Transfer Window

I think making the playoffs is going to be the yardstick by which Lampard will be judged.

This is honestly like arguing with a bag of frozen mince. If anyone else can explain why it’s worse for someone to say something on stage than it is to say it on Twitter, please help me out!

Unfortunately it appears you’re holding an opinion that you have no ability to explain. Must be quite relaxing, at least.

Or maybe you actually don’t know the difference and just instinctively think one is worse than the other? Would explain why you’re being so coy.

I know what your argument is - you think saying something on stage at Glastonbury is worse than tweeting something. You have indeed said that multiple times. Can you explain why it’s worse? You haven’t explained that at all yet.

I clearly don’t see as great a distinction as you do, and yet you clearly seem unable to explain why I’m wrong? Stop fannying around and just explain the difference. Surely you can do that?

The thing about Tommy Robinson? (Ahh him again) You still haven’t explained why it’s worse for Tommy Robinson, Kneecap or anyone else to say something on stage at Glastonbury than it is for them to say it online. Clearly we have differing views on this - are you not able to explain why you...

Have you? Quote it, I must have missed it.

Indulge me, please - explain the difference to me. I don’t agree with anyone standing on stage and shouting “death to [x]” and I’m surprised you think otherwise!

How is it worse? (This is ignoring what was actually said, of course)

Top story on BBC News now! Never has a Bob Vylan gig (in the early afternoon, on Glastonbury’s third biggest stage) meant so much.

I think that’s true, and that’s probably reflected in the cost it takes to sign either player. But I think it’s hard to argue that both players are showing similar levels of promise, or have made similar first team contributions to date.

Bassette is less than a year younger than BNC. But the point is that BNC was a first team regular in a playoff team two years ago, whereas Bassette is still way off that two seasons later.

    Ex Player Watch

BNC was a teenager, inexpensive, and capable of holding down a place in the first team and making a positive contribution, even before he started to realise his potential. Bassette is sadly none of those.

I think calling for the death of certain people from on stage has a pretty clear conflict with the conventions of free speech.

What was said that was antisemitic? I didn’t watch his set.

Yes that was the joke - I know it’s early

Yeah but I’m sure with the right press release they can convince the Daily Mail etc that they’re doing it to make sure they’re thoroughly depoliticising the festival.
