I think he does realise that we need steel, but for whatever reason can't find it. As I said before, I expect this to be a fairly mediocre season, but I'm fine with that as long as there is evidence of a clear, coherent plan going forward. For that we need to give him time.

Reading between the lines (and maybe my thinking is muddled by all the nonsense posted on here at times) it appears that 'experienced' pros didn't want to come to the club based on its basket-case reputation. I would love to know if we really are the most bonkers club in the country, or if most...

I read his post differently to that. As in, that he tried and missed out, so now has to work with what he has. I guess that's why forums are different to conversations in the pub.

Very good post. 10 internet points for that.

I think he'll drop the formation soon., based on the players he has / hasn't got at his disposal. 4-4-2 is back in vogue, and I have to say I think that's something that would suit us with the players we have, especially as we now have so many strikers. I'd say that isn't a case of swallowing...

I think that the change to the loan system may well see a change in the way managers are sacked. Why get rid of someone just after a transfer window, when the new manager will be hamstrung by the old manager's players. If there is a change, i expect it will be around the end of November / start...

    Where will we finish?

Being the saddo that I am, and based on the wisdom of crowds, predictions so far (where specific finish places have been stated) average out at 11th. Seems about right to me.

    Yep, missed that part. Apologies.

To be fair, he didn't specify league. Although the stat is dodgy because, if you take out the Norwich drubbing, it's fairly comparable. (And I say to take Norwich out only because we didn't play a team of that stature this time last season)

    Now lets push on

We tried experience. Pressley loved a journeyman pro, and what good did that do us? Now we have a youngish team, with a good number on permanent deals. That was what TM wanted. And sure, he also wants a few old heads to mix alongside them, but young and hungry gives us a future to look forward...

    Now lets push on

Personally I'm glad it's a young squad. Room for the players to grow. Better than average-to-middling, mid-to-late 20 year-olds who won't improve.

I'm not disappointed because, being honest, I haven't heard of 90% of players we sign these days. Some are good, some are crap, most are somewhere inbetween.

What point are you making? It seems to change with every post. Is it a) Chuba Akpom is shit, b) Andre Wright is shit, c) Coventry City is shit, or d) you don't actually know?

I thought your point was that 1 in 12 at Kidderminster's level was poor? I don't see how Akpom fits into that argument.

    Getting very worried!

I'm starting to wonder if I've accidentally wandered onto the Manic Depressive forum. We're either the best thing since sliced bread or the worst thing since I got a scotum caught in my zipper. There's hardly ever balance to anything.

Did we not score last week?
  19. JulianDarbyFTW

    Getting very worried!

Why worried? It's L1. There's a cigarette paper of difference between pretty much every team, and between most of the players too. We probably won't go up, and probably won't go down.

Mrs Browns boys ranked best comedy of the 21st century

Derek's a good shout. A comedy that gets dust in your eyes at times. More an 'old-fashioned', gentle style comedy than most others that end up on TV these days.
