I think people dismiss the fact that Tony Andreu had a ratio of almost a goal every other game while at Hamilton and Dundee. He gets to that same level this season and he's our 20 goal guy. But instead of looking at positives, we naturally look at negatives. It's the way the human mind works.

To be fair to the fella, he performed as expected. We knew he wasn't a goalscorer when we signed him.

The pessimism is understandable in the context of our last relegation, when we hadn't got a goalscorer. Until we get one (assuming he isn't already in the building) then people will continue to worry. The rest of the team looks competitive, though. It's just that final piece of the jigsaw we need.

Which is what most lower-league clubs do (or at least try to). I have no problem with that model, but it is reliant on a consistently good scouting policy. I'm doubtful we have that just yet.
