    Square pegs in round holes

I'd argue that 4-4-2 fits if you play Andreu as the second striker, but that leaves Bayliss having to play alongside Doyle / Kelly / Ogogo, and I'm not sure that works. So Bayliss has to get shoved onto the right hand side of midfield again so that we have a stronger central area.

    Square pegs in round holes

Last year the squad grew together, a real team spirit helping drive them forward. This season, we're hearing about bad apples in the cart, and some are players who've only just arrived. Assuming that's true, the recruitment / management team have made big mistakes, and that's before we start on...

Robins has to go in the summer / 02476 555 555

Given the noise from the club about pushing for another promotion, anything other than top half may well be a failure from the boardroom side. From a personal perspective, I'm with you on the relegation battle. Truth be told, that's what I'm now expecting (mid-table was my original expectation).

You're right. Our form is about formation and selection choices as much as it is individuals imho.

Yeah, I get that, and don't disagree. Just hard to accept that we're primarily playing hoofball so far this season.

I know it's early days, but we haven't seen much positivity on the pitch so far this season. I'm sure it will come, but it can be hard to remain positive when this slop is served up.

Easy to forget that Sterling and Mason haven't played any first team football until this season, barring one or two appearances for Mason off the bench at Watford. Yet despite that inexperience, they've been part of 2 clean sheets out of 3 in the league.

I'm expecting a dull 0-0 today. Although to be fair, I expect a dull 0-0 every game.

Nick, out of interest, why does it take me to an error / log-in page whenever I click these links? I can't remember my sign-in details, so regardless of the betting, I'm kinda screwed if I ever get logged out!

Match Thread Coventry City at Oxford United Match Thread - Tuesday 14th Aug

This forum seems to attract people with extreme opinions. We're either amazingly good or absolute plop, and there's no inbetween. We've played 2 league games, and could (maybe should) have won the first, and did well to get a point in the second. It's not like we've lost 4-0 two games in a row.

    The system we have played

I listened to the interview with Viveash, and he said that Robins isn't as comfortable with 4231 as he is. Maybe the performances so far reflect that. Give it a few games, then if there's no improvement, change it up. We can't give up so easily, or things will never change.

Conor Chaplin - Signing Confirmed (Finally!)

Wait until the end of the season before you say you'd swap. You never know, we might end up doing ok. Edit: I'd rather have 6 points too btw.

We won't break the transfer fee record in my lifetime. Football will have imploded before we get chance. The financial side is unsustainable in the long term at the current levels.

Yeah, I thought we'd got away with one at the time, and the replay doesn't change my mind.

There was too much hoofball at times. Like some of the young uns were afraid to lose possession and just thwacked it upfield instead. Hopefully their confidence will increase and we'll start keeping it on the floor a bit more over the coming weeks.

I laughed very loudly in a very public place at that tweet. Now I feel incredibly self-conscious. Thanks.

Quite ruff I'd imagine. Edit: the real answer is that even without a nose, as long as the dog still has receptor neurons it should be able to detect scents.

To be fair, it's the midfield alone pushing this up. Doyke 37, Vincenti 32, Agogo 28, Andreu 30, Kelly 28. Take them out, and it's probably closer to 22. Edit: I like Doyke. I'm not changing it.
