    Wheres Jordan Clarke gone ?

What again? He was injured yesterday too!!!

    McPake

Yes, can fully understand that. When he's fit and playing I really rate the lad, but he needs to be playing.

Okay, turning the Thorn thing on it's head

This is the thing that worries me. We really, really need Juke and McDonald to get somewhere in the region of 15+ this season for us to be able to survive. A lot of pressure on these two. Platt is never going to get many, nor ROD. The only hope is that Sheff an/or Freddie contribute greatly...

    McPake

Not trying to defend his injury record here but this latest injury apparently will only keep him out for 7-10 days. Could understand the outcry a bit more if it were long term.

Okay, turning the Thorn thing on it's head

I think even if we are relegated we should stick by him and let him build foundations. The proviso of this of course being that he doesn't prove himself to be incompetent as the season wears on in terms of making ridiculously daft decisions tactically and in his deployment of subs etc. and/or...

Okay, turning the Thorn thing on it's head

Agree. So why are people giving Thorn stick? I think a really good manager could perhaps do a little better, but not a lot and we are talking very small margins. Not enough to get us to mid-table. Still think we would be there or thereabouts near the bottom. Thorn is doing the best he can do...

Okay, turning the Thorn thing on it's head

Instead of judging Thorn and whether or not he is doing a good job, let's turn the situation on it's head. Okay, let's just suppose for a second that Thorn is sacked and Gus Poyet comes in, in his place. I chose Poyet him because he appears to be a really good manager and he's right up...

Anyone else losing confidence in Thorn?

Tis true though Paxman, whether you like it or not. If you listen to the people within the game, coaches, managers, players etc., then they all talk of the possibility of 'burn out' for young players. The seasoned experienced players have been playing week in week out for years in pressure...

Anyone else losing confidence in Thorn?

'At worst, it can break them.' Been my fear too. When I mentioned it on here there were plenty saying 'if you're good enough you're old enough' but it is never that simple. Danger of burn out, too much pressure on them before they've had chance to develop and it can sometimes send them...

    Article: Player Ratings v Ipswich

Very childish indeed. This is professional football. Should have at least been Pin A Tail on a Donkey or One Potato, Two Potato!!

Anyone else losing confidence in Thorn?

He is fine on the deck but struggles in the air and is not commanding enough and quite often let's the attacker get the better of him. He worries me a little at centre back. Neither Cranie or Keogh are commanding enough.

    Are any of us safe?

I'm serious!! We all think the Ricoh Station is to bring fans to the ground from Cov and Nuneaton, when in reality it is going to be a direct through line from Coventry to the City of Manchester Stadium.

    Are any of us safe?

I'm quite happy about it all myself. I see Man City also have us in mind for their own redevelopments. They are planning to build a fully operational 7,000 seat stadium at their training ground right next to their stadium. Means we could move in to an appropriately sized ground for our size and...

Anyone else losing confidence in Thorn?

Could therefore move Keogh to right back and slot Cameron in. by the way, where's Wood, McPake and Clarke?

Anyone else losing confidence in Thorn?

Disagree to an extent, especially in regards to Keogh. For me Keogh isn't a centre back and Cranie lacks the height. Both players lack the strength. I really like Cameron because he is big and strong and a no nonsense type who won't get bullied in the box.

    Linnell, Eakin and happy pills

Yep, that's really comforting that isn't it.

Anyone else losing confidence in Thorn?

Not so sure I had faith with him in the first place. Have totally backed him and I like the football we play, but the bottom line is he is pretty untried as a football manager. He was a scout bumped up to the position because needs must. It's a learning curve for the bloke and it's going to...

Summation everyone...how different did we all see it?

Well this was what I was hinting at, kg82. Last week Paxman put up a post asking how good we are doing. Well last week it was okay, this week it is shite. Far too early to pass judgment on how we are doing after only 7 games. Harsh reality is though that we are near the bottom of the table...

How much time will AT be given?

Totally agree. Doesn't matter who the manager is. The squad isn't big enough, there's not enough quality and we are too dependent on blooding kids.
