Why we should get behind Thorn

There is a lack of quality. For the last bleedin time no-one is disagreeing with you. If we played say Accrington or Hereford in the cup how would they set out their stall? To try and compete on an equal footing or get in our faces and disrupt our game? This is exactly the stance...

Why we should get behind Thorn

Why? Too many times this season we haven't shown the required spirit. That is not ridiculous. The West Ham game proved that we can play that way. Why on earth is that ridiculous. The tactics are wrong.

Why we should get behind Thorn

Feel I am banging my head against the wall here. There is a lack of investment, we are players short, this squad isn't strong enough, we have sold some of our best players ..... I say again, what the hell has that got to do with getting a team to play with a bit of fight? We did it against...

Both of course. Why does it have to be one or other? :(

Why we should get behind Thorn

Don't worry when the team start to slide out of the league though without even putting up a fight.

Why we should get behind Thorn

Lack of effort is down to the manager surely? If players don't put the effort in then you drop them and pick players who do put the effort in. And we did put the effort in against West Ham, so we can clearly do so when we want to. Against West Ham we were at their throats, closing down space...

Why we should get behind Thorn

Well if we're all happy we should just carry on the way we are and we will indeed be all but relegated within about 5 games. By then we will probably be about 12-14 points behind. Think a lot of us feared relegation. No-one expected us to be so far adrift by the end of November.

Portsmouth away, hope of a first away win?

On paper, yes, another good chance to take the 3 points with all Portsmouth's gloom and doom. Shame the game is not played on paper isn't it. And besides, Portsmouth must be looking at this game and thinking this is an excellent chance to get the 3 points against a team with a terrible away...

Why we should get behind Thorn

Accept all of that. All of it! No-one is arguing with that all. Don't see anyone arguing with that. That has nothing to do with the fact that the performances have been poor though. Not talking about quality here, talking about effort. How many game this season can you hand on heart say we...

Why we should get behind Thorn

Why? City fans have consistently critisised Sisu. Constant. Constantly critisised players who have seemed disinterested or have underperformed. Constant. They have backed Thorn but we are now 7 poinst adrift from safety, in the bottom 2 and have won just 2 games in 19 matches. The critisism of...

Why we should get behind Thorn

Think you'll find, Torchomatic that fans are critisising Sisu, the manager and Bell, McShuffty etc. They are not fluctuating between who they feel is "flavour of the month" in the critisism stakes.

Why we should get behind Thorn

If you close down, chase and harry you always have a chance. This is how lower league teams create cup upsets against higher league opposition. This is how they beat higher league placed opposition teams. They cannot compete on an equal footing because they know the higher league club have...

Why we should get behind Thorn

Any manager who loses three of his best players AND has bugger all investment back in the team is going to be up against it. And obviously cannot get his players to close down and harry and chase? Obviously losing those three players have left the rest of the squad unable to do the...

Why we should get behind Thorn

John Sillet would back any City manager, as have the Sky Blues faithful. The City fans have been really, really tolerant with Thorn. No-one could argue that. And I think you will find that it is not the fans that need to find the great escape spirit it is the team and the manager.

Any City players on this forum??

Bottom 6 clubs: surely we are where we belong?

Thing is John, the whole 10 outfield players harried against West Ham. It's why we played so well. Ability to harry as a rule? Bigi, Juke, Baker, Thomas, Keogh, Christie, McShuffty (when he puts his mind to it), Clarke, Deegan. Ones who cannot harry? Clingan, Platt, Bell. Then with the likes...

Bottom 6 clubs: surely we are where we belong?

Agree on that point for sure. You can teach the team to close down space though and chase and harry. Doesn't matter how good or poor they are. You can deny the opposition space. Who was the better footballer out of Glen Hoddle and Lloyd McGrath? You can close down space and stop teams from...

    Thorn out - now!!

Was going to say exactly the same thing. We may go down anyway, but I don't see how anyone can say we will go down anyway. Said yesterday, when Gary Mac was in charge exactly the same thing happened. The players were crap, the team was poor, we were going nowhere and the team had no hope. Look...

Bottom 6 clubs: surely we are where we belong?

Hate to keep banging on about this, but knowing we have an inferior squad means the only way we can compete on an equal footing is by fighting and battling and chasing for every ball, chasing down space, showing grit, determination and spirit. We know we don't have a good squad, we know we are...
