I could just be misremembering, but I don't remember Dovin doing much wrong?
I remember one clanger alright but not much more than that. Most goals he didn't seem to have a chance with as they were either a complete bollock from a defender or a goal mouth scramble from a set piece.
Never understood this whole “we don’t have a first choice keeper” thing
I mean sure I can somewhat get it when it’s dumb and fucking dumber of last year but we’ve spent 1.5 million on a first choice keeper to drop him for Wilson not even 10 games in?
It makes me laugh reading all of the "doug does what he wants, Robins didn't want any of this", "it's all Dougs fault" "it's the performance director" and the rest of it.
Are we seriously saying a woman who was in a very high profile role before joining us and was thought of by many in the...
It seems like it’s the case of teams knowing exactly how we’ll setup but Robins either being unwilling or doesn’t know how to change it.
We can’t beat a press and end up playing stupid passes out of panic and giving it away.
Almost our entire build up play consists of playing it to the full...
Very possible. Even if he doesn't intend to get rid of Robins, you'd have to imagine he's keeping an eye out for a replacement if it came to it.
Not sure who's available that'd be a good fit?
Genuinely did nothing. Not entirely his fault as everyone around him was cow shite but the few times he did get it, he gave it away with a bad pass or dodgy touch.
Wilson - 5 some good saves but the usual clumsiness
Kitching - 4
Thomas - 4
MVE - 5
Dasilva - 6
Lati - negative 3
Eccles - 5
Sheaf - 4
Rudoni - 5
Mason Clark - 5
Simms - 2
Thomas-Asante - 6
None of the other subs really did much.
Don't really understand dropping Dovin, but Wilson was solid in the cup making some really nice saves.
The constant changing doesn't really fill me with confidence though. By this point we should know the basis of our best team and just rotating for fitness / game time.
Oh for sure. I'm just saying I'm not sure the quick counter attack suits Simms.
Simms seems to be more suited to balls in behind that he can run on to, which for some reason we rarely play. It's all balls to feet with his back to goal or crosses.
He was never signed to be first choice.
He was always a rotation player and so far has done well, some dodgy finishing aside.
Would you rather Thomas-Asante to come on when we're chasing a game or still have to rely on the likes of Godden or Walker?
