    Matchday Rewind Furlong

Not sure when exactly this happened in the game, but Furlong's targeting of EMC definitely effected the game, as we were never able to use him as an attacking outlet because he was concentrating more on the physical challenge presented by Furlong rather than the footballing challenge.

    Brau

Agreed that MVE was poor but he has clearly suffered more than most from flu, and has played through a glut of games recently when he probably needed more recovery time. I'm not sure the upcoming two games coming so fast helps that either, and bearing that in mind I was a bit surprised he played...

    Wright penalty decision

Hinchcliffe never seems to think a penalty is a penalty! He thought the same in the Soutampton game when Harwood-Bellis fouled Wright & despite the 3 pundits in the studio thinking differently. I think he would see the foul on MVE from a few weeks ago as not being a penalty either, just as he...

200 million price tag - Wright

A lot of this is knee jerk! Wright was on a hiding to nothing last night. The service to him was none existent and the ploy of him not closing down the keeper was clearly tactical rather than a matter of him simply being lazy. Unless we got a ridiculous offer we would be stupid to sell. He is...

    Ref watch

The bar for getting a penalty seems amazingly high with refs at the moment. Its crazy that that with all the attacking play we've had this season for us to only have had one penalty. The fouls on Wright & Sakamoto, together with the manhandling of Woolfenden with the Ipswich marker pulling his...

    The bitterness...

I remember when we played Birmingham in the cup when our home games were at St Andrews and a Villa fan on social media somewhere refered to the match as 'El Crappico', which I actually thought was quite funny!

    Our slowest ever player

Yes, I was only judging players when they played for us. I appreciate McDonald had a decent career before joining us and that what we saw was not typical of his career in general.

Scores on the doors vs Swansea

Galbraith is clearly a decent prospect but EMC had him on toast in the 2nd half!

..... but the outrage is likely to be from you and others, who who seem to think we just need to turn up and the opposition will roll over for us!

    Championship thread 25/26!

It might be a bit less likely, but the 'big' teams seem to be able to take kids from other teams academies regardless.

Bobby Gould as a manager. Also Les Sealey and Ben Turner on loan.

How much will we spend in the summer?

I'm not sure about that. Every transfer window you seem to have a wishlist to replace and dismantle half the team. Thankfully FL chose not to do that in the Summer. I can't dislodge the memory of you desperate for us to sign Panzo for 2 years before we actually did, so luckily as you point out...

How much will we spend in the summer?

If we make it up I would expect at least half the current team to be regulars next season, and the remainder retained as squad players still likely to play their part. We are in a different situation than Sunderland and Forest who had to spend loads to have any chance of survival. Sunderland...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

Absolutely loving this season and while I kind of get the desire to be arrogant after years of suffering other team's supporters doing so, I still feel uncomfortable tempting fate. Reading some of the Swansea predictions proclaiming that we will hammer them whatever our team makes me feel...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

No, no no. There is a reason Ipswich are open to selling him. He had a fluke season a few years back, would not get in our team and would be no use to us in the PL, so we should leave well alone. Now if we could get Philogene or Jack Clarke, then that would be different!

    Transfer Rumour Dan Neil

He's ok at Championship level so loan might be an alright signing for the remainder of the season, but if we do go up I'd be worried that Sunderland don't believe he's up to the PL should we sign him permanently.

How much will we spend in the summer?

The Luton thing is all hindsight. Their journeymen actually gave it a better shot in the PL than the teams that were promoted with them, and at the start of last season most posters on here were tipping them as the most likeliest to go back up. It is quite funny how badly its subsequently turned...

    25/26 January Transfer Window

I'm not sure whether it would be good to bring Hamer back or not and I'm happy to trust FL's judgement on that. That said I just don't see Sheff U selling him back to us. Nevertheless, while it seems as if Hamer likes a beer and the odd kebab, there is nothing to suggest he does not train to...
