Probably. Calling politicians by their first name is always the first sign “Jeremy” “Boris” (OK his middle name but still). They aren’t your mate. Same as there’s always a weird bloke at the football who calls players by their first name like he knows them.

Some people get very touchy if you aren’t praising Boris 24/7, it’s as weird as those mental old ladies that write Corbyn poetry.

Mate if you take a mortgage holiday you aren’t taking one off someone else. They’re infinite. The banks will be OK, we know they can’t fail. You’re a good un for the thought but Make sure you are OK. Hope it all works out for you dude and if you need a new mother taking out around mid April just...

Yeah I wouldn’t listen to the anti-vax nuts mate. Up there with flat earthers. Im sure chemicals sound scary when you just read them off a list but they’re all tested and safe, this is a good article on vaccine contents: How a Vaccine Is Like a Banana — and Why That's Good

What’s in it will be the same as every other vaccine: an inactivated version of the virus it vaccinated against. Has there ever been a vaccine with long term side effects?

How long are they going to last though? Surely people can’t stockpile forever? Or are they in delivery and stuff?

All marking is subjective ultimately. That’s the point of standardisation and moderation. And no arguments there, I’m glad I’m not a teacher every day.

This is why the lack of a universal testing strategy or resources worries me. Surely if you’re trying to judge this with such fine margins you want as close to an accurate real time picture of infection levels around the country? Maybe we lock down and build up capacity for when we reopen? Or do...

Not everyone will get their predicted grades though. Read the email from AQA I posted, though it’s still to be worked out it’s clear there’s a more stringent moderation process with exam boards being the ones giving out the grades. It’s not a case of everyone gets what’s on their uni application...

You’ll have to ask him mate. I think there’s been lots of confusion with the different terms “isolation” “distancing” “lockdown” “quarantine” all used interchangeably at points.

There’s two questions I guess: economically I’d guess they can continue it indefinitely. The biggest blocker on the economy would be the uncertainty. Let’s say we knew it was going to be three months: sound, let the government run up the debt to get everyone through intact. If it’s ten years...

Interesting. I do think international students will drop with lots of worrying side effects (hello Coventry city center). I wonder if some unis will insist students take up the exam option? Then they can take the exam. Best of both worlds. I honestly think under the circumstances this is the...

You realise Boris is a liberal, right? I’m not moaning, I think for the issue of keeping on workers it’s a good effort. Now for self employed/zero hours staff.

Sounds like a good compromise they’ve announced though, moderated estimated grades for now and the option to take the exam after the pandemic as well if they aren’t happy. Couldn’t ask for more IMO. I might even keep my second job, depending on how the external moderation works.
