EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

That says pretty clearly it’s vaccine or treatment we are waiting for. I’ve not seen anyone serious suggest immunity passports will be a thing.

Exactly. Currently people are going off Facebook posts and scaremongering headlines, how can anyone suggest any info from the government would be worse. Roads today were pretty much where I’d expect them to be lunchtime on a Friday, people have had enough of being kept in the dark and fed shit...

Anyone who says nobody could’ve predicted it isn’t worth listening to. It’s been the number one risk to the country for over a decade.

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

As I say looking at the SK data which I think is the most comprehensive so far it’d be surprising if it’s more than 10% Even if many have any antibody test that’s not 100% accurate (that’s all of them) quickly runs into Bayes theorem as explained here: Antibody tests may hold clues to COVID-19...

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

Is this based on anything other than hope? SK has mass testing and had a fatality rate of just under 2% and a positive test rate of 2%. Best estimates I’ve seen here have been below 10% have had it so far. That’s far too low for an antibody test to be used to open up lockdown. I can’t see...

The idea that we can’t be told what the exit strategy is because we might break it is pure nonsense. Business needs to be able to plan. This is Brexit all over again with the government coming out with some half arsed excuse as to why they haven’t done any forward planning and their supporters...

    Proud to work at HMRC

GDS are brilliant. I’ve got a lot of complaints about the Cameron/Osbourne era, but one thing they did really well was push forward digital government.

Isn’t all that illegal? Is it me or have we randomly decided recently to fuck off the whole social distancing thing? Roads seem busier, people less careful in shops, I wouldn’t be surprised to see us start to climb again in a week or so when this catches up to hospitalisations.

The fundamental problem with education is two fold IMO: 1) everyone went to school so every politician has got an opinion and no one want to leave it to the educationalists (also it’s not a solved problem so there’s lots of different views) 2) It’s a 20+ year system and we have 5 year terms...

Yeah it’s easy to differentiate to that level when you’ve got class sizes of 1-3 TBF. It’s not like teachers don’t want to do this stuff but the primary aim of schools as childcare centres and exam factories to get good numbers for politicians take priority. The biggest issue is simply...

You’re only supposed to be “local” here, that’s the official guidance. It’s just not enforced. The point is that any restrictions on when you can leave your house are a lockdown. Some are stricter than others but they’re all lockdowns. A lockdown is a restriction on leaving an area. We are...

He did the same with the graph. The guy has some serious issues around accepting when he’s wrong and is permanently angry. He’s basically a left wing Grendel with slightly more brains.

The rules are virtually the same: no non essential travel, non essential shops closed, gatherings banned, schools closed. The only real difference is that we haven’t tried to enforce it. But it’s a lockdown. Some are tighter than others but that doesn’t stop it being a lockdown. There are laws...
