We’re keeping ours off. If and when the school says they’re ready of course. Which for now they’re not. Also I have two one Reception and one Y5, and we decided not to send them back until both are back.

    George Floyd

You’re conflating fringe views in social justice with the overall message though. Are there men hating feminists? Yes of course. Is that a majority strand of belief in feminism? No not really. Same for anti racism campaigners. Are there some racist campaigners who bang on about all whites...

    So it's goodbye Ikea,

Agree with your overall point. But the very reason property investors build student flats is that there isn’t enough of them and there’s high demand. Same for high quality office space meaning we can’t attract decent paying jobs. The council build very little themselves and can only approve or...

Bill Gates was on about mass producing 6 vaccines at once and only keeping the one that works. Says a few billion is nothing compared to the global cost of lockdown for an extra few months.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Fair point about it being compulsory. I’m sure someone on here said they’d been given tasks to do on furlough and it wasn’t allowed.

If you became rich beyond your wildest dreams......

It’s a continual issue isn’t it? Such a long list of projects that have failed to take off: canal basin, friargate, Belgrade plaza, CCS, just off the top of my head. Even Fargo isn’t great in all honesty.

The problem with the canal basin is it’s so separated from the city centre, it’s not somewhere you’d amble along to on a night out really. That Tapas bar was great, I went there. There was a decent music venue at one point as well IIRC, but never more than one thing at a time so no footfall.

Yeah there’s no direct economic benefit from training is there? Would be no different to me reading up on a programming language I guess.

The streaming giants are going to keep the gravy train going aren’t they? No end in sight for silly money in football.

If you became rich beyond your wildest dreams......

I think Foleshill is ripe for regeneration. Paragon Park is a big chunk, you’ve got industrial units all around that could be turned into decent estates and you’ve got the canal running through. Just needs some green space and before long it’s not such a bad area. Chicken and egg though. I’m...

If you became rich beyond your wildest dreams......

Ive long had a dream of buying up most of Foleshill Road (I used to live just off it) and flattening everything from Eden Girls School up to the old Golden Eagle and building a park. Then the other side from the new estate to the row of terraced houses and building quality canal side...

Disagree. Raising taxes or cutting spending now stops people spending to get business back on its feet. The pandemic is a one off that it’s entirely sensible to borrow to get through. I support tax rises for improving public services anyway. But the idea you pay for one off costs through them...

Practically it is TBF. As long as they claw back enough through tax. Government is there to add and remove from the money supply. Who they add to and who they remove from is a political decision. Inflation is well down so that’s hardly a worry right now, interest rates are rock bottom. Now...
