Good luck with that with the size of a Nursery budget. Forgetting the logistical nightmare, the cleaning / PPE bill will bankrupt any Nursery within weeks.

No problem with them taking their own stance. Just think it's interesting that whatever decision England takes there is likely to be a look at how Scotland has been damaged. England says lockdown equals damaging Scottish economy. England says open up a bit is risking Scottish lives. Both true...

Agree with you - I'm just saying that it is interesting that whatever decision Boris/whoever makes for 'England' is likely to be challenged at every turn as it accentuates the fact that they are a different country, Do you think that Boris/PM/whoever is leading us doesn't have saving lives at...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

I've stayed out of the politics so far, but will make the following observations. Keir Starmer has come across as a reasonable leader (profess to know little about him) Boris is in a no win position. Clearly he won't be dealing with any of the detail (down to others), but whoever is in charge...

Can I suggest a few of you get a bit more of the suggested extra exercise allowance - may lower a few blood pressures. Alternatively, log on to A Love Supreme and have a spat with a Mackem with an opposite point of view.

Most irritating things during the pandemic

Made me smile. When Tesco first introduced arrows to steer customers, some old person directly in front of me parked their trolley and was reading all the ingredients of every other item creating a significant log jam in the aisles. Was funny and annoying in equal measure!

Dropped off shopping at my mum and stepfather's home. "Have you heard the news from Boris?" says my stepfather. "Most of it", I reply. "4th July" he says to me. "What about it?" - "The pubs are opening" My stepfather is 86 and hasn't processed that even if a pub was to open, he really...

German start next week thrown into Doubt

Let's face it, if PL clubs near the bottom feel they can engineer a situation where they can avoid relegation they will, with the money at stake. For example, Villa will do all and sundry to cancel the season if it means staying up, yet by the same token they will do all and sundry to continue...

Video CLASSIC GAME | Portsmouth v Coventry City, 20th August 2019

Just discovered this and watched this afternoon - was in Malta at the time, and couldn't believe what was going on from vidiprinter/SBT at the time!

    Is it Unthinkable

Thought this thread was posted by a person, with a lisp, about The Titanic (I'll get my coat)

Feeling resigned...but not down and out!

My brother is in his 50s. He gets it, he dies....the under 75s who are vulnerable (underlying conditions) are locking themselves away. If the virus gets to them, a significant number will suffer.

Ok until the last part - it's not people losing 1 month off their life expectancy ( in some cases, maybe). Haven't got time at the moment, but that's a flawed calculation, imho.

Feeling resigned...but not down and out!

One thing that is perhaps different about the current set of circumstances is that a significant proportion of the population know that if they catch this, there is a strong possibility they will die. Yes people with cancer etc will have had to face up to their mortality (I know my brother has...

Feeling resigned...but not down and out!

Cheers mate. I'm fine with life and not down at all, but am mindful of how others are (my brother has been told he WILL die if he gets it- and he's pretty matter of fact about it). My post was just a reaction to what I thought were a couple of flippant posts, which I don't think they would have...

Feeling resigned...but not down and out!

On a side issue, with regards to 'people die all the time' My Auntie was taken to hospital two days ago (I'll say no more on that) If she has passed it onto her husband (my uncle) - goodbye My brother has leukaemia (treatable) but if he gets it.... Mum, stepfather and father in-law - if they...

Feeling resigned...but not down and out!

I think that the longer this situation carries on, a lot of PL teams will suddenly hit a wall, as SKY/sponsors etc will not be as keen to fork out ££££s as previously. Suddenly the players wages are going to take a real hit and it will be interesting to see how clubs react. From appearing as if...
