Don't think Sunderland would allow that:banghead:

    Tim Fisher

Met Dave Boddy on the way back from Ipswich at the Services - he was so happy and you could tell he thought that was a clincher regarding promotion.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

City got 4 points against Bolton ?

    It’s not over yet

Wycombe are the ones taking the biggest risk in my opinion. They move to 3rd under PPG. If everything stopped due to e.g. level of coronavirus within squads and no more games could be played - possibility of confirmed 3rd place. They'd be mad to opt for anything else in my opinion.

I understand Southend G, but surely Tranmere want to play on?

    It’s not over yet

Well let'hope the CET aren't in charge of the official count. Extract from today's article...... Oxford United yesterday made clear that they will stand with Rotherham United and Sunderland in voting to play on for the final nine games. Meanwhile, AFC Wimbledon, Rotherham United, Burton Albion...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Next season's L1 could include Sunderland, Ipswich, Peterboro, Pompey (?). Luton, Barnsley, Charlton or Hull. Not going to be easy to get out of that league for the big names again next season.

‘If’ we are promoted what do we need to compete in Championship?

Joe Jacobson, the Wycombe left back is a decent player.

City fan on BBC news with his decorated CCFC back garden, complete with Robins gnome. My wife looked at me and said ' No' !

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Sad fact is Sunderland can't even afford to 'bribe' (not suggesting they would) teams like Southend and Bolton to play on. If they were in a better financial state, I wouldn't have blamed them for trying that (it's probably illegal!) but think they are stuffed financially, which is why they are...

‘If’ we are promoted what do we need to compete in Championship?

Only if they a) sort the pitch and b) we don;t have to pay over the odds to play at The Ricoh. Would be gutted to have to go into The Championship and try to play on the pitch as it was before we left (and it's got worse since).

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Good point - I'd fancy them in that v Wycombe, which would mean a one game shot at promotion. Tough to turn down.

He's that angry Peterboro fan that doesn't like us? Edit: haha - just read the nice bit about us ( eats humble pie !)

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Peterboro - such a massive club that their fans haven't even mentioned it on their forum yet since the announcement. Pompey also fairly quiet

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Trawled the opposition's forums to gauge feelings and happened across this on the Oxford forum (made me laugh!) Witnessed totally disgusting behaviour at the beach today. A man and woman arguing in front of a load of kids then she smacked him one on the head and it all kicked off between them...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Bird in the hand though comes into it. Guaranteed 'semi final' play off or risk falling out of top 6. Yes - might catch top one (they will assume we are out of reach) but just as easily may drop out of it, Guaranteed 2 leg play off may mean TV money (other route equals additional costs). I...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Can't see how they can be bullied - nobody can afford to 'bribe' them, and playing the games is going to cost a shed load of cash. As for Bristol Rovers saying they want to carry on to help prepare for next season - believe it when I see it - they can't afford to chuck money away on playing...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

If it's a straightforward majority vote, that'll be it - PPG it is (or I'll eat a mad hatters hat)
