    Our Two Strikers

Our strikers are generally fine. Both have areas that could be improved but in the championship they are both ok. Our goals score column suggests that end of the pitch is not really the issue

    Unacceptable

    “Unacceptable”. What utter garbage.

    It’s a shame it’s ended this way…

So you don’t think we’re “capable” of beating Oxford?

    Next season

My point is a phase like this was inevitable. As was the reaction to it. Didn’t expect people to be pleased but a bit of realistic thinking is needed. Not sure it’s relegation form either.

    It’s a shame it’s ended this way…

Well we really need to get a grip here. Early Feb. We’re top. We are capable of beating any team in the league.

    Next season

I agree with the OP. The response would be toxic. We know that because of what is happening at the moment. 13 point lead or not, it’s very rare anyone just breezes through a championship season. It’s probably the most competitive league there is. We built a lead. We’ve been drawn back to the...

Match Thread Coventry City - Oxford United Match Thread - Saturday 7th Feb

Difficult game wasn’t it. Just needed something to break for us early but the longer it went on the more we seemed to tighten up.

Reminds me of an Italian sauce

I agree actually. Esse and is a show pony. We didn’t need him. And his attitude is not likeable. We should have gone all out for a left back.

    Lampard

No. When he took the job. You know, from when he took over? It’s not difficult

    Lampard

    No. Late 70’s. You?

    Lampard

He would. Easily. He’s taken a struggling 17th placed champ team to promotion contention. It’s a seismic achievement if you can set aside the infantile bed shitting.

    Lampard

    Pathetic. Ridiculous.

    Lampard

So, is it all about the last two months then? I don’t think so. The club is transformed. If we fall in to the trap of crying in to our beer every 10 minutes we’ll be back to the days of Slade.

    Wright

Let’s be realistic. Obviously some just don’t understand the game. Oxford come and just park the bus. It’s easier when you’re flying under the radar and teams come and have a go. At home teams are now just sitting in. That means the likes of Wright are playing with 3-4 players sat all over them...

    It’s a shame it’s ended this way…

No, you are right, we’ve got to the top of the league by being rubbish for most of the season.

Match Thread Coventry City - Oxford United Match Thread - Saturday 7th Feb

Wow. Some ridiculous nonsense on here. I thought we’d lost 8-0 to lower league fodder when in fact we got a point and are firmly in the hunt for the prem. Disappointing - yes, no doubt. Disastrous - no.

    Lampard

Absolutely pathetic short termism. Lampard delivered a level of performance we could only dream of a few years back. Seriously, what is wrong with people

    It’s a shame it’s ended this way…

Melodramatic bilge in the most reactionary of ways. We’re in a dip. We’ve been fantastic. We will recover. But let’s stop with the syrupy nonsense
