Disheartening Sky Blue's Story On The Way..

Wasn't the last story supposed to be 'big' too?

    Buy Nuneaton Town ?

You reckon Nuneaton Town to Coventry Bantams would be a subtle name change? If a Nuneaton team came to Coventry they would still be a Nuneaton team, but just playing in Coventry and not a Coventry team. If anyone were to play at the Ricoh it would have to be CCFC or a new phoenix club out of...

    A genuine concern

That's fine. I accept your view. For me, City have been such a huge part of my life. I have eaten, slept and breathed Sky Blue every day of my life. You take away the club though so I can't watch them, then you are cutting off the supply of blood. Half the time now I don't even know who we are...

    Buy Nuneaton Town ?

If that happened VOR, you really would see a protest. No way City fans would stand for that on any level. Think Nuneaton fans would be just as pissed off too.

    A genuine concern

My interest is waning too. They have been such a huge part of my life for over 40 years, but if you take the club away from someone so they can't watch them play then of course interest wanes. It's like having a PS4 but it's in another room and you're never allowed to go in there to play on it.

So what will be the outcome?

Won't building a new stadium take on shed loads of debt?

    Hinckley AFC at the Ricoh?

If a football team comes to play at the Ricoh then it has to be CCFC or a phoenix Coventry City club (should CCFC fail to return). Can't think of anything more embarrassing than having some other town's club playing in Coventry and Coventry City playing outside Coventry.

    A genuine concern

Hey, Japandy, as a devout Christian surely you have the situation of God ruling your life and you have no control over his will do you! And hatred does pretty much come to the fore when it comes to religion doesn't it. If people want to worship at the temple of CCFC and bathe in the Sky...

    Proud of the Ricoh?

Yep. Quite a few naff things about HR. Poor atmosphere, pillars, mismatched stands. I Liked it cos it was our home, but feel the Ricoh is 10 times the stadium that HR could ever be.

Highfield Road and the Ricoh Arena

I'd been going up HR since the late 60's, but I miss the Ricoh more. HR changed so much. New stands, seating, standing, more new stands etc. It became a totally different stadium on a number of occasions. Much prefer the Ricoh.

    Proud of the Ricoh?

Well designed, aesthetically pleasing to the eye and I recall the first day it opened and the amount of people who went having their breath taken away. One of the best stadiums in the country to my mind, Edgy.

    The Poll of Polls:

Prefer them to Latvians and Romanians, but don't like them as much as the Dutch or Irish.

    Proud of the Ricoh?

Think a key indicator is what other people think from rival clubs. Heard guest after guest after guest on CWR before the matches always say what a fantastic stadium it is. Ex players, broadcasters from rival local radio, celebrities etc. The only thing bad about the Ricoh is when it is empty.

    Proud of the Ricoh?

Half expecting Gypsy caravans to be parked on the pitch to be honest. If no-one's there we might as well have squatters mightn't we!

    Proud of the Ricoh?

I love the Ricoh. I have always been proud of it. Do find it embarrassing to look at, at the moment, but that is only because it is standing there empty. It's a great stadium and I cannot wait until we get back there.
