Fair enough. Can't understand anyone who likes cricket and rugby union though who doesn't like the NFL. Many, many more breaks in play in cricket and a much, much longer game and also very long breaks in play in rugby union too. Last week though, there were 6 games on in the NFL and 4 of them...

For me, it is the most exciting sport known to mankind. So many thrilling games that go right down to the wire. Today's Wembley game for instance was won with just 4 seconds left. 10 times more exciting than football for me.

Yep. In total agreement with that. Look how big the States is, yet there are just 32 NFL teams in the whole country. New team in London and 3 new teams across the US, to make 36 teams.

Don't think anyone would argue that Conor Thomas is anything other than inconsistent, but that label can be thrown at most of our players.

What should happen and what would be entirely fine, is for any new NFL team over here to be just that, a new team. Not the Jacksonville Jaguars becoming the London Jaguars, but a new team. Cannot see anything wrong with that. The addition of a team, rather than the displacement of a team and we...

Agree. I'm just talking historically about the game in the States.

Agree, but as I said on a thread a few weeks back, you look at the NFL in 1920, then say 1925, then 1930 then every 10 years or so. It changes so much and so many times with teams merging, moving and rebranding constantly. Not saying it's right, just saying it is very much the norm there and...

He hasn't been. But there again, who has this season? Not many we can say have consistently played well is there.

Maybe it's just me then Nick. I remember both good passes and bad passes. Maybe you are just a sad, bitter and twisted man.

Maybe Maddison just faded naturally. The thing that convinces me of a blind dislike is the fact that all the Thomas dissenters remember that dreadful ball out of player and point that out, but don't mention the great pass he played over the top of the Peterborough defence for Nouble's...

Course he didn't. He's Conor Thomas. We need to do a mystery shopper style thing, where no-one knows who he is. He can dye his hair, change his name and come in as a new signing. Then the views might not be so blinkered.

He did. Not bad for a player who cannot pass. He can't tackle either, but made 3 great tackles in the game. Go figure.

They have 3 games at Wembley this year and all sold out within days.

Yes, of course. Sorry my mistake. It will only be 8 home games. 16 games in total. To suggest they can't fill Wembley 8 times a year is rather naive me thinks.

It's a very short season though, Grendal. Mid September to the end of Jan and you only need to fill the stadium for 16 games. I think they will do it easily. Any problem will be further down the line if the franchise has a couple of very poor seasons on the field. That will then test the mettle.

It's not. It's an American Football one. Wembley will easily be filled for NFL games. I'm sure the Beeb estimated it as about 3 million avid fans in the UK. The season is only 16 games long. Of course they can fill Wembley for 16 games a season. Absolutely no doubt about that.
