Rent Money owed to ACL rumour

What is the expected life of a stadium? Highfield Road modern stands were 60's. By 2005 the team were playing in the Ricoh and Highfield Road was being demolished. How much would your stadium buildings be worth 40 years from now as an asset?

Rent Money owed to ACL rumour

We don't know what the deal is yet. The Poker game is still going on. There is a difference between maintenance, and rebuilding or adapting tp whatever conditions apply in 30 to 40 years time. If you had maintained the West Stand from the sixties onwards, it wouldn't have made any difference in...

Rent Money owed to ACL rumour

Why on earth do you need to own your business premises - apart from using them as collateral? If you got it for below the market value that's a good reason, you are making a profit on the previous owners loss. Ok it may also be easier to make alterations as you don't need to ask the owner - so...

Me too. That's what guarantors do. They pay when the creditor defaults. Hence the word "guarantee". So question is "IF they were guarantors, why didn't the guarantee kick in?".

They don't need to build a stadium if they have done their homework properly - that idea can be held up to put the council under pressure to gain some money back from the soccer/ football project.

I would say that property development is more Joy's line of work as that is what she studied - "real estate". They have also invested a lot of time and money and engaged professionals to find a suitable site for development. Much better prepared to buy land and develop it than they were when...

    Possible outcomes of the JR

On the other hand, the conspiracy theory was thrown out at the Higg's case. Thousands of pages of evidence, including a statement fom Joy and illustrations, were dismissed as irrelevant by the judge at the "warm up". That didn't seem to show a clear cut case. The council apparently said "see you...

The tories want a referendum. I cannot unterstand standing up to a bunch of chancers who take our football team to Northampton to put pressure on ACL, and then standing up for a bunch of chancers trying to take our country out of Europe to put pressure on the tories. Every one is aware of the...

No. I follow a soccer club owned by US/ Cayman Isles companies and investors. Policy is set in American business culture terms.

    The name game

"The council created the situation the club is in by providing the worst rental deal of every club in the country that is council owned." No. That is at best a factor. The debts are massive, the mistakes of recent owners are huge, the running of the club was "sloppy", the accounting "a mess"...

Joy is the owner/ controller of the SISU group. Lucas is the leader of the Council - the owners of the freehold which SISU want. TF is CEO of a SISU subsidiary, his counterpart would therefore be CEO of ACL.

It is good that they are talking - fair Play to them for that. If they are buying land as a plan A to fall back on, let's hope they get a good deal - one that works with or without a stadium. Joy majored in real estate and I would guess she therefore has some idea of property development. I...

The Ricoh arena offers the taxpayer no commercial benefit whatsoever: Disagree there. When something big is on, hotels, restaurants etc. benefit. That is commercial benefit and you just made a sweeping statement that you cannot possibly back up. When we get back - as we will at some time - then...

Yes, you will be open to that accusation. Sorry, that's life. I think that a lot of people appreciate the time and trouble that you are going to, as I do. Even if we disagree on tactics, some tentative approaches appear to be going on between the parties (as mentioned by Simon ) and ML is at...

I think they do care about their 116m costs to build asset - not necessarily about if CCFC play there though.

The forum should be announced when you know who is coming to it - otherwise why bother. If it is a "who did what" forum it won't move us forward, so why bother. The only Forum that would be of use, is a " how do we get out of this mess Forum". Open negotiations in good faith.

The problem with JR is that if both sides agree not to pursue it, they will probably have to pay their own costs - as in the Higgs case. SISU have invested a fortune in lawyers - a small army at the last hearing - and the council have spent a large amount - 3 lawyers alone at the last case. If...

I am speaking as someone who wants and urges SISU - the owners of CCFC, our club - to change tact in light of what is going on. The JR is slipping away, the public have other priorities, the fan base at "home games" has been decimated... You are correct that is hardly a disinterested neutral...
