    I’ve already said, the number of seats was no surprise so I’m not that phased. I am astonished at the poor numbers of votes that Labour got, way below my expectations - and I suspect yours too. The candidate I voted for retained their seat which is enough for me.

    As Labour haven’t taken votes from the Tories, they will need to get some from somewhere In 5 years time when there is a bit of left wing disillusionment and Tory memory loss. Hence the children’s vote.

    It really isn’t a brilliant result for Labour. The position in terms of proportion of the vote has barely improved from 2019 and the percentage of those eligible to vote who have voted Labour has actually decreased.
