Yeah, I thought we’d be front of the queue but didn’t know to what extent. For example would AZ need to produce all of our 100m doses before anyone else gets any ? pretty sure I’d also heard/read AZ will set your manufacturing hubs in Europe so maybe UK manufacturing is just for us. Without...

Just read that AZ have said they have supplied ‘at least’ 1.1m doses so far (so guessing around that type of figure). But will be 2m per week imminently. This, in conjunction with the difficulties in mass roll out of Pfizer vaccine due to storage/transportation challenges, supports the theory...

I’d be shocked if they’re currently in a position to deliver this but as soon as they are, I’m sure ether will. Why wouldn’t they ?* Id imagine it couldn’t be done with Pfizer jab and/or elderly priority groups (they are currently still doing care homes and over 80s) because you’d get a load of...

I was just saying exactly that to my mate Clint. The roll out is currently going well (albeit there’s ridiculous media noise of ‘sluggishness’ and labour trying to politicise it a little) but currently there’s probably not enough vaccine stock and Witty was saying they wanted it a controlled...

Go home with a nice bunch of flowers and some soon to be out of date chocolates for the missus ?! 😊 ps although transmission rates in shops is supposedly low they need to cut down the list of essential shops/takeaways (as much to reenforce message to public of the severity of the situation)...

It’s a fine balance though NW, nobody would want to cut corners...especially when deployment of vaccines/medicines is involved but as discussed last week there appeared to be a load of irrelevant training modules/forms involved in signing up. Tailor it/streamline it and make it...

100% agree. It was disgusting and if correct/widespread (assuming not a one off), I said yesterday I’d pull their contract. At the end of the day it reflects badly on the government and they’ve had enough of bad PR on school meals already so you’d hope it will be sorted and quickly !

Not knocking public sector in general (especially not front line across the board who’s all stepped up) but this just smacks of the crazy bureaucratic stuff their senior management want covering off and see as essential these days (large multi nationals will be the same). This is a crisis FFS...

Just watched this. Really interesting. There’s a doc called 13th also on Netflix which goes into more detail about the explosion in prison population in US in 80s-90s (nearly all black community, mainly low level drug related crime). Worth a watch Might have mentioned this before but if anyone...

Hopefully soon BSB. Assuming things go ok she should be done by the end of next week I’d have thought (there’s about 4.5m in top three groups - care home residents, care home workers and over 80s)

Yeah, I keep hearing different numbers being mentioned (think some people are adding first and second doses together). Great news that 400k of those have even had a second dose. Fingers crossed with those new hubs up and running daily dose numbers will continue to increase (subject to batch...

Agree 100% about the coffee shops, there’s no need (wouldn’t be surprised if these were ordered to shut soon). The walkers/outdoor exercises etc, I’ve said before as long as it’s not in crowded locations I don’t see a problem unless they believe the virus is now far more transmissible in open...

Yeah, for a free society I do think we’ve done pretty well overall. The latest movement data suggests people are far more active now than first lockdown though Id also like to see indoor household mixing stats for Xmas period though. That’s not blaming anyone. I always thought it should be...

I disagree though astute. If other countries avoid this new variant and can get the vaccine out quickly then I think they will swerve the mess that we’re currently in as much through luck/timing. Ireland, which unfortunately for them is the nearest country to us (most travel etc), now has the...

They obviously don’t trust you 😊. Employers are wriggling out of it. The government have left it a bit open but most know (morally as much as legally) that staff should be working from home in the current situation if its possible for them to do so

that’s great news ! (Must be a weight off your mind !). I’ve said before I know of three office based companies that are still having people in on rota, albeit reduced numbers, however, all could WFH. Crazy in the current circumstances when transmission rate is so high

I agree that didn’t help (and he should’ve resigned) but I doubt it has a huge impact on people’s behaviours now. The messaging is very clear again ie ‘stay at home people are dying’ (it wasn’t as clear over Xmas) and yet roads etc are still busy It feels like the country has massive lockdown...
