Match Thread Coventry City at Crawley Town Match Thread - Saturday 14th Apr

Admittedly I wasn’t at the game today, and I’m sure someone said earlier Haynes lost his man for their goal. I’ve just watched the goals, and I have to defend the guy. I honestly thought it was a well worked goal, that league 2 defenders wouldn’t really stop. Thought It was a nice piece of...

    Deluded

Whereas I’d counter this with a club issue Premier League Aston Villa Championship Bristol City Forest Doncaster When we got relegated Christ even when Coleman had us right up there we lost to Cardiff and drew to Plymouth Even the cup final ended with an own goal. As a club I don’t...

    Support for Burge

I’ve been a huge critic of Burge since Peterborough a few years back... we won 3-2, the guy hasn’t improved. I decided to give him a clean slate after Wembley... heroic! But he’s back to his usual self. He’s horrific coming for crosses and I’d say he’s dropped us more points that won. That...

Match Thread Coventry City vs Yeovil Town Match Thread - Monday 2nd Apr

Thing is O’Brien was dropped after 2 mistakes, Burge has made them regularly... he got away with one against Grimsby where he ran out to n mans land and Hyam cleared it off the line. O’Brien isn’t great but he’s better than Burge.

Trust open meeting - 14th March, 7:30, Ricoh

Yeah I’ll give you that, depends how you read it. The way I read it was that they were effectively doing us a favour and if the legals continue it won’t be happening next year. Be happier if I’m wrong though

Trust open meeting - 14th March, 7:30, Ricoh

But why? Wasps have already said they’re effectively kicking us out next year. Whilst I’d be happy if CCFC bought into the Ricoh 50/50, long term they can’t rent. If they can’t get 50/50, the building a new stadium is the only way to go

    Gary McSheffrey

Depends how you define legend. To me a legend is someone who showed logevity at the club and made hundreds of appearances with a mediocum of success ( Oggy) (I know that this is hard being a Coventry fan) Someone who did extraordinary things, that fans from all ages would identify. Most fans...

    Season Tickets

Typical Coventry fan reaction... won’t invest in their own team and then are flummoxed when we have to sell or don’t bring in better players

    Mediator appointed..

I’m not knocking that, like you said in the first JR it was based on the 40 year lease. The second claim is based on a 250 year lease Either way we’re getting kicked out of the Ricoh at the end of next season, unless something gives and I somehow doubt that

    Mediator appointed..

Whilst the JRs seem to contradict each other, isn’t the argument “it wasn’t worth what Wasps paid with the 40 year lease” and the second is “they haven’t paid enough with the 250 year lease”?

Government must introduce an independent regulator for English football

Signed. Problem is, how do you define bad ownership? Withdrawing funding isn’t bad ownership. That’s why I think we wouldn’t get out of this SISU nightmare even with that

Nuneaton MP to raise CCFC home next season in Parliament

Out of interest does any one know when/how all German clubs became fan owned? Or has it always been like that

    Interesting Article offering hope

Or as much as I’m against the councils actions, they should have handed control over to the club - income and expenditure, and charge a peppercorn rent £1 a year Stays in the city’s hands and no dodgy owner can sell it off,

Does the budget reflect our position?

Correction: they’re not normal businesses. At the end of the day the owners don’t want to lose anymore money. Most of them might lose money, does that mean football should adopt the approach “invest a ton of money at a loss, if it fails fuck off and let someone else do the same”

Does the budget reflect our position?

The owners don’t have to do anything, they don’t care - we’re seen as a business and we’ll run at break even. Derek Robins probably lost millions. But it was different then. The game has changed, football clubs are businesses first and foremost now What’s the incentive to prime the pump given...

Does the budget reflect our position?

That’s my point. They don’t care, they’re not investing and the club is sensibly operating on a break even budget. We need the fans to return and provide a bigger budget if we want better. But it’s chicken and egg. The team need to perform and entertain, whilst the club need better players.

Does the budget reflect our position?

We’ve got to forget about the the SISU thing. They’re not going to sell up and they’re not going to put money into the club, we are where we’re at with the money the club makes. That being said, I’d hazard a bet in saying the likes of McNulty, Doyle, McDonald, Willis, Grimmer, JCH, Andreu...
