It is indeed. Surely he has enough about him and enough experience to have addressed that hasn't he?
I have loved the bloke and found him a breath of fresh air, but ever since I have learned about this Achilles heel he seemingly has, I have become very concerned.
If this is to be the 3rd time...
Good points. Just grates a little when you can have Gillingham and Southend and Burton all fighting for a play-off place and that being their target and their believing it is achievable.
With the City it always seems to be about consolidating and building and it being 2 or 3 seasons or 4 or 5...
We can hope, can't we.
A win on Saturday would be brilliant, but it wouldn't change my thinking.
As I keep on saying, we need a run. 3 wins on the bounce and then we are right back in with a good chance. Just can't see that 3 on the bounce though, I really can't.
At the moment I would be...
Been saying for weeks we should rest Ricketts! Been hard for me to accept because earlier in the campaign I had him down as one of the candidates for player of the season.
The change has been remarkable. And as I say, I believe it is resting him, not dropping him.
Give him a couple of games...
It is indeed a massive concern.
Team spirit and belief are so massive to a club.
We have players whose heads drop, don't track back, don't roll up their sleeves and don't have the stomach for a fight.
We need 11 players with the ethic and mindset of Vincelot and Stokes. Have that and it would...
3 points on Saturday would be brilliant for sure, but like you say it is so much bigger than that. 3 points is just one single game. As I keep saying, we need a run of results. Are we capable of 4 wins on the bounce? I would say almost definitely not.
We would in all probability have to win at...
Hmm... seems though that his calibre includes having teams of his 3 times in excellent play-off positions at Christmas and then totally blowing it.
Not sure I would want another manager of that calibre to be honest.
And just 2 goals in the 4 games since putting 6 past Bury. One of those coming from a defender, Aaron Martin.
Silly goals away at the back, not scoring enough at the other end.
Hardly screams out 7 wins out of the last 11 games does it!
They do say he will appear in the finale. That is usually an elongated episode isn't it, or in two parts.
Think you'll have ample opportunity to admire the size and glory of his baseball bat.
Yeah, but I now hate saying that. Used to always say 'oh, that's a good age!' Or 'He had a good life.'
Can't say to my parents 'Did you hear, George Martin died! He was 90, so a good age.'
They are both 87. Have to tread on eggshells sometimes.
Eh? Surely we have to go by how many points the team in 6th place got?
No team has ever made the play-offs on less than 69 points. That is the stat we have to look at.
Also, it's a fair point about strugglers. Certainly teams you would be at least looking to get maximum points from if you have any aspirations.
Drew against Oldham. Won one, lost one against Shrewsbury. Drew and lost against Rochdale. Won and lost against Fleetwood. Drew against Blackpool.
