    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

I do find it strange how people have created this narrative whereby they're convinced Moore is an upgrade on Marosi when there's actually a fair amount of evidence to the contrary. I'm all for people being entitled to their opinions but if you can't back an opinion up with anything more than...

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Fair I hadn't read that. I think this window was always likely to be the most difficult under Robins' tenure. With Championship clubs all fishing from the same pool following the introduction of the points based system for signing EU based players, it's made the prospect of us bringing in...

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

I'm not particularly optimistic based on signings so far. I haven't hidden that fact either on this thread or others. But having said that I won't shoot myself in the foot by making rash statements or predictions before all our business has been completed as we have no idea what's coming. With...

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

To be fair, although I'm not overly enthused by the recruitment so far either, we can't make that statement yet. Not when our business hasn't been completed yet and the season hasn't started.

    Ticket prices

If you have that view I suggest that's probably why you're not in that position. If you slash ticket prices it's difficult to put them back up again and the club actually loses money. Most if not all commercial employees in football clubs would tell you the same.

    Ticket prices

£30 really isn't that bad for Cat A games. Most of the games will be between £20-£25 which is pretty reasonable for Championship football IMO. Don't really see why people are making a fuss.

    Brandon Mason

As with most loans, we're still likely to be still paying a portion of his wages. So, unsure whether we'll be able to get him totally off the books - as you would if his contract had simply expired.

Yeah, we need a replacement for Ostigard and a genuine upgrade on either McFadz or Hyam otherwise at best we haven't improved on our back line from the previous season. Which isn't ideal when it was a recurring problem for much of the campaign.

    Burroughs New Deal

Good news. I think he'll make a positive contribution next season and has a bright career ahead of him.

Granted he'd be a solid signing but for the wages he'd likely demand I question whether bringing him in would be a wise use of resources.

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Not so sure. I suspect Arsenal will be more willing to spend this summer as they've probably realised that a big spend is needed as they're fast becoming a mid-table team which just won't wash with Kroenke regardless of how frugal he traditionally is. They've also made a number of players up...

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Few rumours circulating that Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Maddison and are now set to submit a bid of around £60m. Assuming Leicester accept that I presume we'll receive some kind of windfall.

    So...

It isn't whatsoever. Otherwise by the same logic every transfer made by Robins should automatically be an upgrade. Whilst that might be the intention it's never really that simple. So, yes it's a ridiculous arguement to make. I support Robins explicitly, however I'm not one to sit back and gush...

    So...

I wouldn't jinx it, standing by what you say is hardly your strong point. The point was I'm unsure why Moore is being touted as a significant upgrade when not one of us has ever seen him play and his record, as well as the reviews from fans of his previous club, neither suggest that he's a...

We've paid a fee for Gyokeres and Sheaf?
  17. K

    So...

How can you guarantee it? I don't know what's in Robins' thinking or plans and neither do you. Moore might turn out to be a shrewd signing but ignoring the opinions of Sheffield United fans coupled with the fact he's featured a handful of times in 3 years can't be ignored. The arguement that of...

    So...

Do you know if Moore commands his area? Again we're making assumptions on things we don't definitively know.
  19. K

    So...

Can we definitively say whether we've improved in the keeper department? Moore has barely played in 3 years and reviews from Sheffield United fans suggest his level is probably top end League One. Until we see him play none of us can actually say whether he's an improvement on what we...

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

I'm not sure Lansbury is a good signing. Over the past five years he's averaged around 12 games a season. That's an alarming record for a player who's likely to be one of their highest earners.
