Sordell - How Many Goals ?

You realise my post was sarcastic?

Another frustrating first half. We've been by far the better team. I'm not a fan of the formation, but at least today the players look as though they understand it more. Sordells first touch is poor and he should have had at least one. However, it's his first game back so I won't write him off...

Bar DKE (who I'm sure of yet), it's strong team on paper. Excited to see that strike force. It's just a shame I know I'll be depressed again at 5.

    Signing announcement shortly

I know I am in the minoroty but I think this is a good signing. He has the technical ability and vision to dictate games, however I accept he is prone to bad decisions and misplaced passes, but with game time and TM's influence he will come good. Plus, he's only 22. But he is only interested...

name 1 thing we have to be positive about

The further down the leagues we get, and worse our performances become, the less casual fans we get who turn up to two games a season, shout "get it forward " and think they know everything there is to know about a player after 5 minutes.

Disappointing, embarrassing, disheartening, worrying, coupled with a slight questioning of TM and his performance so far this season, both on and off the field. Sure. Time to all lose our shit and give up a few weeks into the season? Nah.

Boooooo, don't care about football, only off field stuff.

    Could be worse

I was shocked when the promotion favourites signed him. Awful, awful player and a dickhead to boot.

RCC - 6 - missed punch and did not attack other crosses, but saved us at the end with the one on one, great reactions and speed of his line. Willis 7 - no idea what that cross field pass was, but solid performance. Ricketts - 6 - struggled a little with Pope, but good commitment towards the end...

Based on tonight's performance, who in our team hasn't been too lightweight?

Reid and Jones need to come on to add some attacking impetus. I'm sure McCann will be a stand out while he's here, but based on the first half, I'd prefer Stevenson. Poor poor half, we truly look clueless. Such a disconnect between midfield/attack. I hope any potential signings aren't here.

A few physical tackles and we look intimidated. No worries though, our main heading outlet is off injured and I'm sure his replacement will be just as good in that role....

Good to hear - I was basing my comment on the earlier post that stated three changes.

Match Thread Coventry v Bury Match Thread - Tuesday 16th Aug

Seems a bizarre team selection, Reid/Jones were out main threats on Saturday and I would have thought McCann would be a starter. Perhaps it's fitness related. I hope the replacements have a stormer, but it's a surprising line up, especially as it previously appeared as though pace was key to...

McCann to make it all click, Reid and Jones to scare the defence with pace and trickery. Willis to score from a corner. 2-0 City. Fuck the Council.

A sneaking suspicion..... (Monday Transfer Thread)

Positive signing in every way - he can come in and make an immediate impact, while simultaneously being a LT signing. It also once again indicates that TM is building a squad, which gives hope to the fact he sees himself here after this season and that we will have a team to support in the...

They still have a Purity bar, but it's more than half decent!!

The new formation and potential problems.

I agree. I partly get the impression by bringing K Thomas on TM was attempting to introduce a plan b, using a target man. Granted it's a half way house, as we need a genuine plan b in terms of tactics/formation, but at least TM recognises that. Plus in all fairness, based on yesterday's bench...

Match Thread Coventry v Shrewsbury Match Thread - Saturday 13th Aug

Dominance for 45 minutes but nothing to show for it yet. Everyone is performing well, Reid is particularly lively and Stevenson/Ghadzev are composed once again. I'm sure there's lots more to come, but based on the first 45 not sure Page deserves the start ahead of Haynes. We find that killer...
