So where do we now expect us to finish this season?

Going to have to go some to get 11th I think with the games we have coming up. Some real tough ones. Sheff Utd. play Southend tonight. Either team win and we'll be down to 10th with the next 4 opponents being Gillingham, Wigan, Bradford and Millwall. 11th may be a tad optimistic.

Mowbray vs Pressley Last 15 Stat

I think we have a bit of a chance to pick something up at Gillingham, but Wigan look to be on a real roll and that looks like certain defeat. Then it's Millwall and Bradford and Sheff Utd and Oldham. I'm sure we will pull something out of the bag against someone. If we now don't manage...

Mowbray vs Pressley Last 15 Stat

Yeah and like in 1992 there was the same 12-18 month management merry-go-round we have nowadays wasn't there. That is 24 years ago! Rightly or wrongly managers are given so much less time and besides, Ferguson is a very, very rare example. No comparison. Every club pretty much these days give...

Mowbray vs Pressley Last 15 Stat

If it wasn't for the three times of nose diving out of the play-offs I would be 100% behind the bloke and would just put it down as one of those things. But three times? Has he learnt nothing? If he stays I'll back him, but am more than half expecting exactly the same thing to happen again...

    Mowbray cwr

As I said on another thread, the likes of Armstrong was an unknown entity. I think at first we caught a few teams on the hop. Those first 3 games we were great. I think it took a little while, but teams saw that we consistently played the same way week in week out and set out to nullify us...

    England cricket

Yep. Me too. We only need just over 7 and a half an over. Don't need to go all hammer and tongs over it, just pace themselves. Take the ones and twos and punish the bad balls. We have the firepower to do it.

Mowbray vs Pressley Last 15 Stat

We need to sack him early on and preferably just after a 5 or 6 nil win.

    Our Formation what is it?

It doesn't help that we don't have pace at fullback. Lorentzson isn't quick and neither is Ricketts, nor Stokes either. Something that needs addressing next season. We need overlapping full backs. Ours do overlap, but it is rare and they lack the pace. Have to say, Murphy is one of the worst...

So where do we now expect us to finish this season?

The Walking Dead on Monday nights?

So where do we now expect us to finish this season?

I am optimistic about England in the Euro's. We lose the first match though that will change somewhat. Lose the 2nd and I will accept it is going to be really difficult and we're not going to make it. Don't confuse optimism with blind faith! ;)

So where do we now expect us to finish this season?

Yep? There it is in a nutshell. Optimistic, but with realism smacking you in the face with great big sledgehammer! You want me to be optimistic for Saturday on the back of 9 defeats in 13, only 4 goals scored in 8 matches and just 4 wins in 21 games? That isn't optimism, that is cloud 9, away...

    A foreign manager?

But how many British managers have succeeded here? We need to consider all options.

So where do we now expect us to finish this season?

Sounds fine by me. I am optimistic though. Example of this was first game of the season. A lot of City fans were predicting defeat against the much fancied Wigan, but I said a win. Was very optimistic that day. Always fancy City's chances against teams until the facts and situation is pretty...

So where do we now expect us to finish this season?

I am glass half full. What do you expect me to say? Being optimistic doesn't mean having to put blinkers on, close your eyes and stick your fingers in your ears! You need something to be optimistic about. You can be optimistic, but realistic. Got nothing to do with 'half full.' Being glass...

    Mowbray needs to go

We haven't appointed losers as managers. We have appointed managers that have become losers. Mowbray's failure this season has had very little to do with the owners though. The owners didn't choose the tactics or make TM play Ricketts and Cole every week.

    Next Season

Yes. Only went by your initial list. Woukd definitely keep Martin.
  17. Otis

    A foreign manager?

If we were to replace TM why not go for a foreign manager? (Not counting the Welsh or the Scots! ;) Been lists bandied about with possible replacements, but very few of them are inspiring at all. Been a few clubs that have had success in going down the foreign route. I know it a gamble, but...

Just Lorentzson out of that lot. Basing that though on the fact that I believe JOB has already gone, unless we change the manager.

    Next Season

I would have wanted him. Not anymore though. Far too many flaws in his game. Think Jones might well look a better prospect. I wouldn't be against it, but woukd be a bit meh about it.

    Steve Cotterill

We have scored 59 goals, but 19 of those came in just 4 games (Millwall, Gillingham, Crewe, Bury). That leaves 40 goals scored in the remaining 35 games. Very poor return.
