    Reasons To Be Cheerful ?

Well luckily for me and everyone else my mirror doesn't have any glass in it.

    Life's guilty pleasures

Just something that stemmed from when my daughter was little. Think she was about 4 and her grandma rang and I pretended to answer the call on the banana. Picked it up and said 'hello, how are you my old fruit?' My daughter laughed and it has kind of stuck since.

    Istanbul Attacks

It is that common and the only sense of feeling we get back from people is that it is an annoyance and nothing else and there is no sense of tragedy or enormity. They say 'oh, it was just a jumper ' as if they were saying 'it's a bit cloudy today isn't it.'

    Istanbul Attacks

We are getting a bit more desensitised to it all seemingly and it can be harder to shock, though the Paris thing and the gay club thing took our breath away I think. Think we are getting more desensitised to bombs and bombings. It's like if you go down London. You go on a train or tube and...

Reasons to be cheerful? I wake up every morning, look in the mirror and know I am still alive.

    Life's guilty pleasures

When we get a phone call on our home phone I answer it on a banana and if we don't have any bananas in the house we let it go to the answer phone.

2 new signings on the way..

Yep, after England it is good to talk about football for a change.

    The Next England Manager

I'm sure he's not, but he comes over a bit dense and clueless to me. At least with Hodgson the players seemingly respected him. Southgate seems a bit of a joke.

    Euro 2016

Yep, totally agree and this has also been the downfall of Holland and Belgium and Spain in the past. You can't just pick your best 11 individuals and then try and mould them into a team, the team needs to come before the individuals.

    Mind the gap

It does. It is the crazy, mad world of football we live in these days and I think it will only get worse. You just have to hope that some day it self implodes.

    Euro 2016

Now are you talking about the City or England here?

    The Next England Manager

Not sure we will qualify to be honest, not if it is Southgate. Can see Scotland beating us and Slovakia away will provide tricky I think. First game after all change, so tactics and formations all over the place. Oh...... hang on ........

My missus's sister is going to be minted! She has three properties in Volgograd. Can see her renting those out no problem.

    The Next England Manager

So if it is to be Southgate for 12 months I take it we are not at all interested in qualifying for the 2018 world cup.

    Euro 2016 big thread

Now I haven't got his stats for the Iceland game, but I bet you can chop those scores in half, so the bloke who can pass really well suddenly can't pass at all. That tells me the mentality was all wrong on Monday and that we had a touch of arrogance about us and were not at all mentally...

    Euro 2016 big thread

Every time he touched the ball against ICELAND he gave it away, but if you look at his stats for other games then you can only scratch your head as to why he was so poor. Some of his passing stats against Russia: Total pass accuracy - 88% Short pass accuracy - 100% Long pass accuracy - 100%...

    Cov university

Posted this same thing a few months back, stu. I'm all for students in the city, but there's no need to go crazy and leave nothing for anything else. Going bananas! Opposite sports centre, old Allied Carpets building in Corporation Street, possibly the old Co-op store building, the old sorting...
