In no way a criticism but based on the first 5 minutes, Hyam won't win many first time balls against Ameboi.

Poor crowd in the stands thus far and it's absolutely hammering down. Still it's the first game of the season, how can you not be excited.

Anyone see him play pre season? Always got the impression he was for the future?

At this moment I dislike you - I've been refreshing this page every few seconds for the team news and I got excited when I saw a new post.....

With this weather it surely has to be shoot on sight? Let's just hope their keeper is worse than ours* and/or our attacking players are better at shooting. *I'm hoping ours isn't Burge, as much as he did begin to improve I don't have absolute confidence in him.

I currently have shorts on, however it's just started to hammer it down which may change things.

Also, I rarely remember my dreams, but I have a vivid memory of last nights; McNulty scoring a pen at the end in front of the away fans.... A sign perhaps/hopefully?!

I know before the first game of the season the season the heart rules the head, however this season I am genuienly and justifiably optimistic. Barring Wembley, I haven't felt this excited about a game since the TM run a few seasons ago, and never before the first game. High pressure and...

    2nd Signing - Duckens Nazon

If he can play left or right wing then it's a good signing, at least from a positional perspective, otherwise we only really have Jones as a LW option (I'm not counting Reid) which doesn't fill me with much hope. At the very least he provides competition.

    Pearson signs

Seems a sensible decision on paper. I'm sure when it all goes wrong and he leaves for nothing it'll be seen as a stupid one by most, but if he gets injured and we terminate his contract without a fee and free up wages, the initial pragmatism and sense won't be recognised. As for Pearson...

    Robins Pre Match Conference

Especially if the morning announcement is Pearson, so the second signing really will be a surprise and we can spend even longer speculating!

    crowd next saturday

I predict around 8k for the first game; we've had a decent pre season, made some good signings (on paper), MR is trusted amongst fans and it's the first game of the season. As everyone has said, if results go wrong early on, attendance will drop dramatically. Away fans will support that a...

    Match Day Routine

Meet at the Greyhound for whatever the guest ales are, walk to the ground, listen to shouts of 'get it forward' followed by a comment about losing possession, check scores to see my bets are all losing and comment on here at HT, walk back to the car depressed at 5. One of the highlights of H1...

2-0, McNulty and Stokes (why not). Doyle to be over excited and get booked within 10 minutes and Willis to be injured by HT (although I hope not).

So , what do we all reckon for 2017/18 season ?

We will gain promotion, however Robins is key to achieving that. He got a poor side, the same side that got us relegated, playing well and winning games. This summer he has been able to bring his players in and had a whole pre season to gel the team and impress upon them his tactics and vision...

Genuinely even more excited for this season now. Every season I think we all experience that element of hope and positivity, but this year it is actually based on something. Bring on August.
