I don’t think he would bail like that. He might have in the past but as you say he’s been burnt by that and he wants rebuild his reputation as a manager. West Ham are bit of a basket case club and Lampard has talked about working with a good chairman etc.

Yes indeed. If we have an injury crisis to our wingers then you eliminate that with wingbacks and 3 at the back.

Also the problem we have is we can’t sign expensive players to sit on the bench either and loan players where their clubs are saying they are guaranteed playing time. So it’s a fine balance.

It’s time for the likes of Andrews to develop quickly with us and the Eccles we saw against Sunderland before he got injured is what he needs to set the benchmark for. I’ve slept on this but we have a lot of versatile players in our squad which is a positive.

Woolf saying we tried to get him in Jan. So a long term target for us we’ve got over the line. This is a smart signing to strengthen our defence.
