    Speedway Stadium Land

Disagree with this issue about planning. I personally went to a high court to overturn a similar situation in Dorset a number of years ago and I assure you who was there first does have an implication. Theory is you can't cry wolf when you moved in knowing there was a stadium there. That's one...

    Speedway Stadium Land

Keep a lid on it Jack, I laid doubt on it, I never said I wanted it. I was commenting on the scenario of a stadium being used more to generate income streams which is the whole point is it not? Wembley use to hold speedway, the Millennium does now. Footfall is obviously a factor in any decision...

    Speedway Stadium Land

I don't know if this would ever come to fruition but the idea of a new stadium that included a speedway track I like. It would certainly add to the income streams?! Brandon is as good as Coventry as far as I'm concerned. People have no qualms getting to the speedway so I don't think football...

    I agree with Mr Sillet

Well BSB answer that yourself! What do you want them to do? Nothing? Can they at least be proactive? Are you suggesting there is nothing they can do? Do they even want to try? Should they try? You see BSB you should never just accept something without first try, try again. It's never over till...

    I agree with Mr Sillet

..let me expand a little: ACL's offer was not for any income streams from the stadium, it did include a huge climb down on previous rent but still some £400k plus match day cost on top! It did not include any ownership of the Ricoh, neither freehold or leasehold. It was really a carry on...

    I agree with Mr Sillet

I see so some of you believe that whatever ACL offered was good for the football club and should have been accepted?
  7. Paxman II

    I agree with Mr Sillet

Both sides are about as culpable as each other with their attitude and responses while ignoring the supporters. These two sides MUST find a way to fix this and do the obvious by agreeing one way or another to play in Coventry, preferably at the Ricoh Arena.

    Just calculated....

Think what must be understood here is not the 'hard core' such as those that occupy forums like this and bleed sky blue but the 10% of the 300,000 or so general public with their families and friends who go every week or most other weeks at home games from around the city of Coventry. That is...

we support the groundshare - sign here

This is not about playing out of town temporarily as much as where? For me Northampton is a bit of a stretch to use as a home venue. Some 70 odd miles round trip? Had they shared at a closer ground then it would make better sense but so far away starts to disassociate many fans from the club...

    Confirmed northampton

Could it be a match by match basis only with a caveat agreed with the FL to returning to the Ricoh at some point in the season if some middle ground could be found with ACL/Council? Options have to remain open surely? If not I fear what will be left after 3 years in Northampton? This could...

70 mile round trip for Coventrian's to watch a home game? Are the season tickets free? ;)

What is our team line up at the moment?

I look at that team and see bombing full backs, a very good striker at this level and a decent keeper. Plus an attacking midfielder/playmaker in baker worth afew goals and think to myself it's a half decent team tbh. they are experienced in this league now, we have youth and experience and the...

What is our team line up at the moment?

With all that is going on off the pitch and the lack of any news from the club, I thought we should remind ourselves of what we have as a team to start the season with? I appreciate we may get some in but just to get us thinking football for 5 minutes anyone want a stab at the line up? I can't...

Grendel I personally don't find your post particularly offending. Some just "don't like it up em sir" Be yourself. I get on the soap box occasionally but out of frustration more than anything.

Skyblueswiss: I think you are correct to assume they bought us and then made errors which have ultimately got us here to where we are today. I believe they have agreed as much and have stated they intend correcting those mistakes which started last season and the year before that as they cut...

Perhaps you can give us your take then on what is the right financial road to take for: 1. SISU (and related companies/the football club) 2. ACL/Council/Higgs Also do you see a financial option that both sides could find common ground to agree on?

Football has changed. If football clubs want to survive then they must like any other business be willing to diversify, if the opportunity actually benefits the football club. Haskell is a property developer and as such clearly would have held talks about the land development with the council...

What's clear reading all the post in this thread is that once again people are quoting the 'structure' of the Ricoh in so many varied ways! (ACL/Higgs/Lease/freehold/Shares/Council owned/Council own ACL) and the list goes on. If you are going to discuss the viability and future possibilities...
