That team is fine, the two surprises are Shipley over Kelly (assuming a flat three in the middle) and McFadzean being dropped - seems bizzare to me. That’s zero experience or leadership in the team. Still, I’m pleased we’re trying something different and I really really hope Biamou proves the...

Difficult team selection tonight, as the box got us promoted, playing great football and the players are familiar with it. However, it isn’t working thus far. That’s in part due to the players showing too much respect to the opposition and us not playing our football - the two are linked in my...

You should also include each time one of the usual boo boys is slated. Take two sips everytime McFadzean, Shipley (albeit he was awful Tuesday) or Godden are slated. And neck a drink if one the favourites is praised/escapes criticism despite making mistakes/hiding, namely Hamer and Dabo.

    Running

I started running first thing in the morning during lockdown on nothing but water (only included coffee/porridge if doing a half), so I guess essentially a fasted run; I always enjoyed it more, it felt better and was a great start to the day. Since baby number two arrived and paternity leave...

    Reasons to be optimistic...

Sheaf has improved significantly from a very bang average midfielder to one of our best players tonight. That’s after only a few games, so hopefully that trajectory continues. Ostigard is an improvement on Rose and should start every game. MR hasn’t had a full strength squad to choose from...

Disappointing in every aspect. The negative tactics and performance would be fine if they’d have resulted in a draw/victory. Things are not looking great but let’s not all lose our heads. There are positives to be taken still and once MR has decided on his strongest team/everyone is available...

Walker didn’t look sharp pre Covid either, which is disappointing.

Stupid goal to give away. Poor from Walker to lose the ball needlessly there and potentially from one of the defenders too but couldn’t see as cameras were too slow. Massively frustrating.

Disagree with those who say we can’t compete footballing wise. We have spells each game where we prove we can. Granted they’re spells, but it evidences the ability is there. Not a hater, but it’s been massively unfortunate Shipley has been the person on the ball for many of our better chances...

The constant long balls to an isolated Godden are frustrating. He’s working hard and I like him, but if we are going long doesn’t it make sense to give Biamou a go alongside him or Walker and/or COH at 10 to run behind. Shipley off the pace big time this half.

Positives; Looked solid Ostigard and Hamer improve the tram Negatives Minimal attacking intent Lack of options/available/anything from the two AM’s It’s a solid base to build from, and I think second half we’ll go for it, probably from 60 minutes if not immediately. Definitely think we can...

I think we’ll see a different performance second half. At least I hope we will. McFadzean has been excellent again.

Disagree re Allen, I think he’s been poor in possession and offered nothing offensively (nor has Shipley). And I like Allen as a player, but he’s not adding anything. Ostigard has been great though.

Not sure how Ostigard got away with that.

We look poor, no style or pattern to our play again. And very defensive with too much respect given to the opposition. Im hoping it part of our tactic; allow them to have the play, don’t concede and come out all guns blazing second half when they’re tired. Allen and Shipley offering nothing in...

Yea, I dunno. I’ve got a pass to watch the whole game uninterrupted while my partner watches both kids, and I have a load of nice beers in the fridge.

I’m even sort of looking forward to witnessing some of the melt downs as soon as things go wrong or McFadzean/Godden/Shipley/Giles make a mistake.

Sweepstake on what time the Robins out threads will start tonight? In all seriousness as with all games this season, I think we have a chance if we play with confidence and play our football. Unfortunately that if is getting bigger and bigger. The players have been disappointing and frustrating...

Appreciate some of the negativity and apprehension on here based on the last few games, but equally there’s been glimpses we are capable of competing at this level. Including last game - and I don’t agree with the whole Brentford took their foot off the gas argument, it’s lazy and purposefully...
