    Referee Analysis Blackburn

I didn’t think he was too bad, 6.5 feels about right. I felt that Robins should have subbed Ostigard after the yellow, he’s very competitive, and is unlikely to back off. Was a daft foul, gave the ref no option. We’ll miss him Tuesday.

I don’t see where you get that from, to be honest. I think he’s ok, pretty even handed.

    Referee Analysis Brentford

Yep, I thought ref was good, can’t think of any instances where I was abusing him from my settee for a decision I didn’t agree with.

    Player Ratings

To be fair, I’ve seen a couple of 6’s for DaCosta, and I wouldn’t argue with that. I thought defensively he looked shaky, and his positional play suspect, particularly to the diagonal ball behind him. I think Robins saw this, which is why he brought Pask on, we then looked more solid down our...

    Match Thread Brentford

I thought the Sky coverage was pretty fair to be honest, gave City a lot of credit. A few posts before the match about Tyler Walker being unable to score, and being a lazy c. Well, he needs still to prove that he’s a consistent Championship goalscorer, but in terms of his work rate, he more than...

Yeh, but he’s right, there’s no evidence that Walker won’t score if he has chances.

Is it possible that he overstretched himself, in a bid to impress?

    Referee Analysis Norwich

Yep, thought the ref was ok, he did nothing really to offend me. Not sure O’Hare needed anyone to push him, to help him miss the target!😀 Must stop being cynical, he needs to score one, and hopefully he’ll be up and running. I’d agree with an 8. One thing though, we must be a very easy side to...

    Match Thread Brentford

Agree with this, the only thing I would say is that, yes, he seems to have dropped Ostigard because of mistakes against Cardiff, but I think that most of us/all of us, would think it was the wrong decision.

    Final warning from Robins

Yes, it’s not been mentioned, but at the time I thought Wilson’s positioning for Pukki’s goal looked suspect. Seemed to have a lot of goal to aim at. And yes, although O’Hare gave the ball away when we were in a promising position, it was far too easy for them to play through us. We made Pukki...

    Final warning from Robins

It’s interesting that Robins questions some player’s confidence. Does his man management help? The fact that he dropped arguably our best defender, Ostigard, presumably because he made mistakes against Cardiff, tells all the players that they are just a couple of mistakes from the chop...

    Match Thread Norwich game night

Someone’s already mentioned it, but with 5 seconds remaining, the ref would allow the play if Wilson hits the ball straight into the box. So he plays it sideways and the ref blows for time. I know we wouldn’t have scored, but that’s not the point, a basic lack of intelligence. And Wilson’s...

    Match Thread Norwich game night

Spot on! As a league one side a couple of years ago, didn’t we beat a Premier League side in the cup? And that would have been a bigger stretch than beating Norwich tonight. Not saying we’re going to win, it will be a tough game, but this isn’t Barcelona we’re playing. Too much defeatism, me thinks.

    Don't sweat the small stuff

Yep, ‘looking forward’ to tomorrow’s game with trepidation, as I always do. And having lived in Norfolk for a few years after I left Cov, a lot of my friends are Norwich fans - so could be tough tomorrow.

    Relegation Battle

The thing that worries me, is that we’ve played well, and in fact better, than our opponents in many of our games, but we end up losing, or drawing. Reminds me of our relegation from the Premier League, when I thought in many games we played well, but we were brittle, and we know how that ended...

    Referee Analysis Cardiff

Very poor ref, didn’t seem to realise that Cardiff were constantly stopping our attacks from building by committing fouls. More cards neede early to stop them.Haven’t seen the stats, but they must have committed so many more fouls than City?

    Match Thread Cardiff

I agree that we don’t have a lot of pace in the side, but I felt that against both Forest and Watford, we played on the front foot, and I didn’t sense any lack of confidence?

    Geoff Courtois

I’ve come to this a bit late, but have just seen that Geoff Courtois, Head of PE at King Henry V111 for many years, died in September of last year. I had a pretty uninspiring time there in the 60’s, but Geoff was one teacher who I remember with any fondness (well, two to be fair) a really good...

    Match Thread Coventry v Watford

Agree with this, the bench is always inexperienced and lacking in match winning quality. The strongest team is already on the pitch. So it’s often the case that substitutions are often made out of necessity, injury, or as in yesterday’s case, because players have run out of steam. So, we make...
