Maybe, but why would Rudoni have started playing like that? Last year he was immense being central and arriving late in the box. Why now suddenly start drifting wide and start holding the ball up if you've got a free role? And even if he was doing that surely by now he'd realise it's not working...

Even if we don't spend £7m Grimes definitely needs someone to help share the workload, even if it's a loan.

I can't imagine that he's doing something he's not been asked to do (and that Lampard would keep playing him if he was) but look at how different BTA took on the role when he came on. Why wouldn't FL have told Rudoni to do that earlier? Why would he just tell BTA to play in a completely...

It's not that he's not up to speed, it's that he's playing his role in a way that is completely detrimental to us.

Unless we get someone in who can help share the burden with him he's still going to be tired, and still make the mistakes he's made the last few matches.

He's not going to last a full 90 and I think he'll be more effective being on at the end of the game and playing against more fatigued players. Having said that I'd still drop Rudoni and play Grimes, Torp, Eccles from the start.

We've been pushing our luck last two games, but managed to win both. Having those options on the bench has made a massive difference. BTA and Sakamoto totally changed the flow of the game.

Use that last sub to waste some of injury time

Might be a bit much for him ATM unless we bring him off. I'd rather still use him off the bench at the mo, but given more time than today. At least half an hour. And spend the rest of the week strapping Rudoni into one of those Clockwork orange machines watching how BTA has played the role.

Are we going to tell our players to get at the player on the booking? Seems every time an opposition player gets booked we then decide to just leave them alone for the rest of the game.

We used it all up with the high energy pressing earlier in the season. Worked well for us thus far but we need to be rotating and using the subs bench more, and probably bring in another one or two players (especially to cover Grimes).

Bring Yang, Sakamoto and BTA on.

He's played loads of minutes. He's tired, and when you're tired you go mentally as well and start making poor or slow decisions. We need to sign someone who can come in for him.
