Video WHAT AN AWAY DAY! 🤯 | Coventry City beat Sunderland (A) in Christmas classic | City Unseen 📺

Genuinely love watching these - it’s a real post match highlight. Shame the fans are in a rubbish position to get any proper footage of as I imagine it would have been immense to see. As others have said the chemistry is clear now and growing each time. Play off push is on.

    Boxing day roll call

I’m there with the usual four others. Repeating myself from the match thread, but I’m very pleasantly surprised I got a pass with absolutely zero effort as it’s Christmas Day #2 at the in laws tomorrow. I’ve said I’ll be out 3-5 which isn’t strictly true, but I’ll deal with that when it’s get...

    Recommend a book

Non-fiction wise, I’m generally into historical fiction or fantasy type books. I have forgotten loads as only just getting back into regularly reading after a few years off, but here’s some of my favourites/the ones I remember! Historical Fiction Bernard Cornwell - favourites; Warlord Series...

Match Thread Coventry City - Sheffield Wednesday Match Thread - Tuesday 26th Dec

Looking forward to a Boxing Day game, even more so as I’m surprised I’ve not had more stick or guilt trips considering it’s Christmas Day #2 at the in laws! Especially looking forward to seeing the ever improving Sakamoto, Wright, MVE and COH. Also really hoping this is the game Simms get a...

Simms continues his impressive performances today with a brace. 0-3, Simms x2, MVE

This team will be better than the 22/23 team

Bit late to the party but fully agree. The strength in depth has significantly improved and I feel we have better footballers this season too. We are missing the two standouts from last year and don’t have anyone at their level who can single handedly drag us to a win when needed. But neither...

    Recommend a book

I’ve recently got back into reading in the evenings before bed. Obviously depends on taste, but the Bloodsworn Saga by John Gwynne is really good. I’m on book two and it took a little while to get into it, but really enjoying it now.

    Fábio Tavares

I’d like to see him get a few 20 minute cameos on the wing. At the very least he’d come on with pace and energy in an area he can utilise those strengths. Until we make any additions, he’s the only offensive impact player (potentially/hopefully) we have.

I remember the “cousin” stuff starting but can’t remember the conclusion or even what the poster was attempting to backtrack on?

Also, if Kelly goes on loan and leaves in the summer, I hope we get to give him a good send off at some point. He’s been a great servant and a constant steady presence and pro in the background.

    Transfer targets

Two wingers and a striker is interesting. On one hand it means 7 players for 3 positions (8 if you include Taveres), but equally strikers wise there were no game changers on the bench last night. That’s no disrespect to Godden but he isn’t going to come on and change the game. Midfielder is...

Transfer Rumour Confirmed - Bradley Collins

His whole thing is supposed to be distribution isn’t it? Sweeper keeper type, good with his feet etc? Not saying he’s bad at all, but I’d like more of that. Today he was slow at times or picked an odd ball. He loves the goal kick feint too, which is subsequently telegraphed. Been impressed...

Any idea on the type of midfielder the bloke we have lined up is? I’m hoping it’s a box to box type who can pick a pass. Playmaker with an engine.

Does this surprise you? Majority of our fans are clueless.

    Refereeing

The COH pen? Not seen it back, but in real time (and the heat of the game!) it seemed pretty stonewall? If so, linesmen has to take a lot of slack he’d have had a good view. But as always, they are generally pointless.

I saw things differently re Simms. I thought he had a decent game in a difficult role. If people were expecting him to waste his energy chasing between two competent ball playing CB’s then that’s mental. He held it up well 9/10, he showed bursts of pace running with the ball and was involved...

Match Thread Coventry City - Southampton Match Thread - Wednesday 13th Dec

I get the boring stuff as it was a long half, but equally they’re on form, full of confidence and possession based. We’re holding them out and creating counter offences. I want to see more, and be more excited, but we’re doing fine. Shackles off a little second half.

Bednarek (35) really thinks he’s something, I’d be telling Simms to go through him early second half. Make him think a bit more.

Stonewall pen. Even without going down, What is the point of linesmen?

They are Uber confident on the ball, but are absolutely susceptible at the back and look shaken when we do something positive against them. They are a good team don’t get me wrong but beatable.
