    The Replacement

He’s key to us being consistently top of the speed of attack charts. He’s basically got licence to try things if he sees them without a worry about losing the ball. Same as strikers and AMs, a high pass completion rate can often mean they’re taking safe passes and not trying to break through the...

You could say the same about me driving my car instead of taking public transport or using BUPA over the NHS. The fact is removing these kids is detrimental to everyone else’s education. The only people that benefit are the private kids themselves. You’re defending a system that has classes of...

Just some blue sky thinking, but could Sakamoto play CM? Or is he too slight?

    The Replacement

Gutted Gus never got one in direct from a corner, he was clearly trying. Love a whipped set piece myself, but it’s got to get there.

Then you don’t have a business, sad, but happens all the time. I suspect actually most costs would be passed on and there’s be some consolidation of the market like Bablake and Henry’s have done. But ultimately even in your doomsday scenario we’re talking tiny numbers to have to make space for...

    The Replacement

Despite the fact that I think he’s scored more free kicks than Gus in his time with us, I’ve never been overly impressed with Palmers set pieces. What were Tatsu’s like on Wednesday?

And that’s if all of them close! I’m assuming that’s not your claim? So in reality how many new kids do you expect to turn up at these schools post policy change?

Why would VAT rises push schools to close? Do you have any evidence of this being a thing? 80% of a schools costs are staff, these scale linearly with number of students. If we can’t cope with an average of 20 kids a school or about four a year we should probably be looking at a one child...

No you see we have to let rich people live in a bubble away from society or they’ll get scared and run away. Or something.

    The Replacement

Do we think we need a set piece specialist or is Sakamoto and Palmer enough? Feel we need someone with a piledriver of a shot.

Explain. Just walk me through how adding VAT to private schools ends up with state schools closing. I’m all ears.

The problem for both is lack of funding. And as I’ve said you’ve more chance of that with a bunch of posh parents with skin in the game. And again, all the pedagogical evidence is that adding high performing students to a cohort has a positive, not a negative effect.

Why do you think an influx of smart, hard working kids with supportive parents would weaken the state system exactly? Walk me through it. “Politics of envy” I’m just saying buying your kids a head start shouldn’t be tax free FFS. Especially when it demonstrably harms those who can’t afford it.

And I know a tramp who won the lottery. Let’s just buy homeless people lottery tickets. What you’re saying is you leveraged your wealth to enable it. That’s exactly what I’m saying too. Just ballpark figures, would the median parental income at say Bablake be higher or lowers than, oh I don’t...
