    Championship thread 23/24

Make almost this exact post in the other thread about this 😆

Anybody tell me what this means

It’s basically @Philosorapter’s system AFAICT. So take with a pinch of salt I guess, useful for knowing how we’ve started against teams with different starts.

Sure but I’d be more worried about losing a CM or a WB, even an AM right now. Imagine relying on Eccles and Kelly in the middle for an extended period.

No idea what this is. But fuck it we’re second.

Why? Players all over the pitch play 90 mins. It’s not ideal but Vik pretty much did it the whole season last year.

We’ve switched between 3412 and 3421 quite a lot over the last few years. I’m not sure it would be a massive imposition. Of course if we lost two of our top three strikers it wouldn’t be ideal, but I’m not sure what area of the pitch that doesn’t apply to.

Eh? If wright and/or Simms are injured in your scenario why is it a waste any more than if we had a fourth striker? Well just got to the box like normal.

I have been a service engineer on call. I didn’t get called out for 24 hours a day and I doubt you did either. No footballer ever gets NYD or Christmas Day because there’s always football scheduled. If you are seriously claiming you never slept or had a day off in 40 years of working well then

If you left at 6 and returned at 7 you didn’t do 24/7. Did you get Christmas Day off? Footballers don’t. New Years? Not there either. Saturdays? Lol. To begrudge them a couple of days off after a shortened close season is ridiculous. Just because you disregarded your employment rights doesn’t...

These are young lads earning half a million a year. Why are we shocked they go to Dubai and Ibiza for a long weekend instead of Weston-Super-Mare?

    Death of the high street

This links in with my Lord of the Flies theory that we’ve broken down the means for intergenerational discipline and culture sharing due to lack of mass employment.

    Safe standing consultation

At this point we’d have to go bigger than the CBS to be viable and that’s probably not viable at Warwick. More likely to expand the CBS.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Its mental really cos surely by definition the people who will get the majority saying what they think are the more moderate politicians. This TED talk always comes to mind on a variety of topics, this one too:

WW2. War started for Britain on this day.

Here’s one for you: how many don’t? For context in ten years I only ever taught in academies and free schools. I never taught in a school that didn’t follow the national curriculum for main subjects. Mostly they just fanny about with Business or RE.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Its the fear in the eyes that people won’t like what they have to say. I reckon the first thing you get as LOTO is a bunch of pollsters telling you what people don’t like and to smooth it over and tone it down. The most popular (and also divisive) figures have been the fringes cos they don’t...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Id argue media has a fair bit to do with that. The way some of these were treated in and out of office was night and day.

    Death of the high street

No I agree. I looked into it a few years back and was shocked at how high rents are in town. I’m not surprised it’s half empty TBH.

If Blair had Things Can Only Get Better as a theme song, what would Starmer have? 🤔

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Yeah you just want to see something. Thing is I’m not sure I’d buy hope even if Starmer and Reeves were selling it. What’s the big event that’s going to mean now we can look forwards? Or is it just “lol elected now everything’s fine really” which won’t go down well. They need something though...
