No. The key thing is how many *will* become ill with Omicron and die of it. Again, do you think this is a worldwide conspiracy by every government and every media outlet? We are not the only country proposing additional measures. Why do you think other countries are worried?

They certainly want to sell papers and get clicks, but then if there's a substantial proportion of the population resistant to vaccination and/or masks in the face of all of the evidence, then maybe a little fear isn't misplaced. Is that scare-mongering, I don't know.

No dispute from me here. There's definitely a grown up conversation to be had, but first we've got to get it under some measure of control. And I'm not saying you're doing it, but when we do have that conversation I don't think disregarding the science and evidence would be a good place to start.
