If you apply that logic the only club who get fair market value are clubs who sell a player against his wishes. That is clearly not true.

I agree but he is relatively better than Wilson which is the crux of my point. Despite an off season last campaign Simms will still attract suitors and for a 7 figure fee. The same cannot be said for Wilson.

This isn’t true though is it. Just because a player would like to further their career at another club then it doesn’t follow that their fee reduces. I dont doubt that Mbeumo wants to leave Brentford for United or Spurs but so far Brentford have turned down 3 bids of over £50m …. 6 weeks...

I agree totally but in the real world people do share snippets of info to close friends that they think they will value. They possibly don’t expect that said friend to then post it on social platforms.

If someone has been sacked for leaking classified info then they deserve to be sacked. They need not worry though because their “friends” who they told confidentially (and then decided to broadcast it for their own ends )will no doubt pay their mortgage etc until they find another job. 🤔
