Nothing wrong with protesting, it's won us many of the privileges and freedoms we enjoy today. And whileI don't really agree with the protests going on in Manchester currently you can't only defend the right to protest when you agree with the cause.

I'm old enough to remember when the police were proper wankers. People should be careful what they wish for. If you think they only dished it out to those who deserved it you're sadly deluded. That's the reason they got reigned in, though they are far too soft these days.

The video I saw doesn't look good for the officer involved. But going by this thread it's clearly missing some pretty important events leading up to it. If whatever disciplinary investigation only ses the video I saw, he's in trouble but hopefully the full story emerges.

So what do they want? The amendment is irrelevant really, all its done is shone a light on the fact that there's an opportunity to help some of those who have suffered most under austerity and Starmer refuses to take it.
