CET: Sky Blues take Coventry City Council to high court over bailout

For those of you not on twitter Les Reid and Cllr Kevin Maton were sending each other yesterday, got a bit heated but a couple of interesting points came out: The money has come from public funds and to date no loan has been taken to cover the payment. Maton said that was a cashflow issue...

    Gary Hoffman

I'm not supporting him till I get my phone call and he takes us all out for breakfast and / or coffee. If he can't manage that he's clearly not as good as Dinsar or the crazy canadian who's name escapes me at the moment.

When are next seasons fixtures arranged and released by the league?

They're released 19th June but obvioulsy they'll be arranged before that as they have to consult with police etc. I seem to recall around this time last year Portsmouth had to give the league assurances they would be able to play the full season so I would guess we will have to do the same...

CET: Sky Blues take Coventry City Council to high court over bailout

Well to me it's either a delaying tactic or SISU believe they have a case. As a delaying tactic I don't see the point, how would SISU be in a better place than they are now after the delay? The only thing I can think of is that they hope to put off any potential buyers but I'm still not sure...

    Announcement tomorrow

not sure how significant this detail may be but reading the article it sounds like the council didn't take a loan, they paid out of public money and will in the future (or maybe already have) cover that with a loan. seems a bit dodgy on the face of it, what happens if it turns out they can't get...

why do the manager and co. keep talking about new signings?

it makes sense really, we don't want to be in a position where if (a big if I know) we come out of admin SP hasn't made any plans. sure we can still identify targets and talk to them it's just a case of if they will wait and see if the embargo gets lifted before they sign for someone else.

Other Cov fans at Wrestlemania 29 in NY.

Seems a long time ago that I was working out how much money I wouldn't get back if I cancelled my trip to WM to go the the JPT final!

    City to Exit Administration?

how does admin work in that scenario? if you pay off all the debt do you automatically come out of admin and have SISU retaining control or does the whole admin process still have to be worked through?

If David Bell can a career out of football, I could have been a...?

David Bell was probably the last signing we made that really excited me. The way there were going on about him and we seemed to have been after him for years I thought he was going to be amazing and the person who would turn things around for us! Those were the days. Now when we sign anyone I...

    Match thread - Leyton Orient

to be fair a number of the injuries seem to be players who were playing through them while Robins was here where now they've been told to get them seen to sooner.

Joe Elliott is attending the Sky Blues Kenilworth Supporters Club tomorrow -Wednesday

why would that be confidential, surely that kind of thing is the whole reason for having fan representation. look at the Marlon King situation for example, would have been a lot easier if there was a fan rep on the board to tell us what actually happened with his contract renewal rather than the...

    Admin exit

the whole reason we needed to go into admin by a certain date was due to a cut off after which points deductions are carried over to next season. the FL brought in this rule to ensure the integrity of the game, or so they claimed, and so the system couldn't be manipulated. Anything penalty after...

    Admin exit

also does this not leave a loophole exactly the same as the one they tried to close by putting the points deadline in place. other clubs may now see an advantage in staying in admin until they know if they are safe or not and coming out on a date that best suits them while ignoring any CVA...

    Admin exit

the way to do it would be to require all club owners to place a deposit with the football league which they forfeit if certain events happen. can't see why the points deduction should be this season, makes a mockery of it as they are already down so no punishment at all. this points deduction...

    Calm before the storm ?

Is it even possible to move it without the FA knowing. I mean SISU may think they have moved it but if they haven't told the FA would it not be the case that the move hasn't happened. How else would they move it? Only way I can think of is as an asset on a balance sheet somewhere but would that...

    Playing devils advocate here.

no club particularly needs to own their stadium so long as they are getting a good deal and access to revenue streams. we have been paying way over the odds and not getting access to any revenue streams! one thing that doesn't get mentioned is what happens when ACLs lease runs out. at that...

    club statement

another thought. to play devils advocate for a moment, if the invoice can't be raised as Higgs has no agreement in place then on what basis is there something to be paid? surely you need to have the agreement in place prior to use? If a new agreement is being made why should it cover a bill for...

    club statement

does that not imply that the debt for repairs etc is with the company in administration in which case they're out of luck really, they would need to apply to the administrator as a creditor. could it be that Higgs are trying to move a debt over form one company to the other. not sure SISU are...

    Rioch calls out Higgs/PWKH

I have a feeling there's some pretty strict rules about what facilities are required else they lose the academy status and funding so it's not just a case of turning up somewhere with a pitch, anywhere they use would have to be of the standard required by their academy status. Not sure if this...

    New ACL statement

the administrators priority is to ensure an ongoing viable business, if he does not think this is possible he then sells off the assets for maximum return for the creditors. There's nothing to say that SISU can't retain control, what we need to see is the administrators reports which should...
