Coventry vs Tranmere - Match Thread

There's no way Wilson and Clarke can be expected to score every game, they have to have a dip at some point. The question is when they do can the rest of the team step up, either need more goals from elsewhere or the defence to tighten up.

Coventry vs Tranmere - Match Thread

always a danger of a result like this when you're playing a we'll score more than you style of play. do people think we're letting in so many goals (not just today) due to our style of play or is the defence just not doing their job? will be interesting to see how the side responds now. Coventry vs Tranmere - Match Thread

It would be interesting to know what the response has been from the crowd given what has been said by those that go about the fantastic atmosphere, everyone getting behind the team, no criticism of players etc. Easy to be like that when we're winning but now we're having an off day are they...

    today

The ones I've been offered were through a mate who has a business in Northampton who have dealt with NTFC before, not sure if the offer came from NTFC or if it was coincidental / SISU trying to get some local sponsors.

    today

Everyone has to make their own decision. Personally I've been offered free tickets a couple of times and have chosen not to go as I feel going gives legitimacy to the actions SISU have taken and that non attendance is really the only form of action we have. I do think attendances being so...

IF there is a new ground built........

Didn't Edgbaston used to be in Warwickshire until the mid 1970s?

IF there is a new ground built........

What does Albion mean in club names? Does that relate to anything?

So if we follow the Derby route Joe and Hoff buy the ground and give it to the club with Joy and Tim ending up in prison :D

Les Reid podcast report part 2

Unbelievably Les seems to have got a second story out of this weeks Lamptey podcast and I find this one a poorer piece of journalism than the first and I didn't think much of that one! http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/sky-blues-fans-divided-over-6332419 I posted a summary of...

IF there is a new ground built........

Its a bit ridiculous for people to be saying anything outside the city boundary is a no go. That said it's pretty clear that every step further away from the city boundary will mean more people who feel it is too far away and won't go. It's a pretty unique situation, other teams who play...

    Not coming back.

I'd be interested to see the business case for that and how they proposed to turn a profit as on the face of it paying out £50K and taking none of the ticket revenue on a 9K attendance doesn't seem to stack up. Was the attendance a lot lower than expected or was it pretty full? If it could be...

Pod Cast about meeting with ACL

I listen to it while cycling in a gale so apologies in advance if I've got the wrong end of the stick on anything. My overriding feeling was that the CT piece presented just about the most negative report of the podcast conversation possible. Started off with a preamble where Joey and Andy...

I may be totally wrong on this but my understanding was that the 'rent' also covered things like the provision of parking spaces, hospitality etc which were then sold on by CCFC at a profit.

    Not coming back.

If ACL paid the LTA 50K with no rights to any income other than F&B on a 9K attendance then they must have made a significant loss on the event. My understanding is ACL recieve under 77% of F&B profits from Compass. To cover 50K on a 9K attendance you're looking at £5.55 per head. I think that...

but as we've seen stated by the likes of OSB all the other income actually comes to very little. People seem to keep assuming that the amount charged to SISU / CCFC is all clear profit for ACL but they provide facilities and services which have a cost associated with them.

    Not coming back.

You're not comparing the same thing. The Davis Cup was a paid event, ACL paid a set amount to buy in the event they then had the rights to ticket income and other income from the event. Are you suggesting that SISU pay £50K a match and then keep all the revenues? Can't see that working for SISU...
