Id say rebanding council tax is a tax on the wealthy. It’ll lead to a rebalancing of the tax base away from the poorer north towards the south. As is the rumoured tax on banks mentioned in Tony’s video he posted. The tax burden is at an all time high and the rich and big business also tend to...

It’s overbudget in large part because of reactionary opposition and regulation. As I say SK builds for 1/6 of the cost.

Secret option number three: sign someone more effective than either of them like Stamenic.

This is a really interesting look at that idea: Tl;dr: it’s been mooted for over a decade and not happened because once you factor in the additional costs of transmitting and storing energy and the risk of investing in these nations you may as well stick solar panels on your own roof.

Just want to say that I called this back in L1 and was consistently told by the experts that we would never get these kind of numbers even in the Prem.

Six times more than the same reactors in South Korea. All down to regulatory cost basically.

They always have, they just also have some monumentally stupid ones too. The problem with the membership writing the manifesto really.

Why stop at cost neutral? I’m sure the eleventy billion a week Palmer is apparently on can cover the entire squad and our summer signings.

Stunningly stupid manifesto from the Greens. They want to ban nuclear power. Not a serious environmentalist movement.

Not sure what he’s done to deserve an increased offer since last time. Barely played, had little impact, and the market has determined he’s not worth much. I’d be reducing the offer if anything.

Like a Norway type deal? As long as we took the French approach to some of the ridiculous tech legislation they’re bringing in I’d be OK with that. I think it’ll be more piecemeal with deals for certain professions like vets and musicians that have had particular trouble.

Carbon tax would surely work for this. Perhaps with a modifier for altitude as I understand that’s what makes aviation particularly nasty.

This is a bit of a myth. Petrol cars catch fire at a higher rate. Though if we bring all these new cheap Chinese EVs in maybe that’ll change.

What do you do about super heavy electric cars damaging the roads though? It’s not all anti pollution it has to fix potholes and stuff to.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Well that’s what I was thinking actually in a way. Scrap VED and instead put the tax on petrol (essentially what we’re already doing) so people pay per mile. But then that’s all fucked with electric cars. Weirdly the right thing is probably to do what the greens want with a carbon tax, reduce...
