    Do you consider us safe?

    The operative word being ‘if.’

    Match Thread Barnsley (H)

If I was a betting man, I’d put my money on a draw or a Barnsley win. Our home form is a lot better than our away form, but equally, Barnsley have a very good away record. If Birmingham beat Rotherham and we get a draw, that should see us safe.

I’m hoping we do the same if we survive this season, which I’m confident we’ll do. A result from Sunday probably seals it for me and thankfully, we’ve had some good home results against the teams in and around playoffs.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Brexit, ironically, has made the case for Scottish independence even harder. A hard border with England as they join the EU? Irish unity is a likelihood even without Brexit as the long term demographics trends toward catholics which mostly favours the Republican cause.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Collapse of third party support. This buoyed both the Tories and Labour as they polled above 40% for the first time since the 1970/80s. Brexit nullified UKIPs raison d’être and Lib Democrats were (and still are) a complete non-factor in most constituencies. Until the Lib Dems become a...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

With hindsight, losing Stoke-On-Trent Central and Mansfield was a warning shot to the Labour Party in 2017. Two Labour strongholds since the 1920-30s flipped to Conservative. Brexit sped up a process that has been happening since around 2005.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Society has changed fundamentally from the 80s when there was a sizeable industrial working class to speak of and the Labour Party hasn’t adapted well to this since 2005. I think the Gordon Brown ‘bigoted’ comment is probably the key starting point when Labour Party began its disconnect with its...

    Do you consider us safe?

Equally, Rotherham’s home form is terrible. They’ve lost to us and Wycombe in recent weeks - relegation rivals and (before last night), 23rd and 24th in the form. I’m not one to be complacent, but considering our home form is top half, I can’t see us getting relegated with 3 home games...

    Do you consider us safe?

If Rotherham lose against Birmingham on Sunday, I’d consider them as good as relegated. We’ve got to have our wits about us for Huddersfield away, that’s a game we could do with picking up a point.

    Match Thread Rotherham

I don’t think they will stay up and never felt they would. Playing as many games as they have to in such a short period of time takes its toll. If you’re Rotherham, you’ve got to be bitterly disappointed losing against Wycombe and ourselves sandwiched with a good win against QPR. They’ve left 6...

A win against Barnsley on Sunday and we’re safe.

    Match Thread Rotherham

Don’t get me wrong, Thursday could be a very uncomfortable 90 minutes. But Rotherham wouldn’t be where they are if they were a good team. After all, they lost 3-0 to Wycombe at home for a reason. If we win, we go between 7-9 points clear of them (depending on their game in hand) with only 2...

    Match Thread Rotherham

Our away form has been awful this season which isn’t a good thing going into the biggest game of the season. Frankly, if we win this game, we all but secure our Championship status next season. We just can’t afford to lose this game.

    If SISU cared.

Makes you ponder what expectations some people have one this forum... I mean, it’s not like we’re 7 points above the relegation zone.

Our away form has been terrible, so the best we can probably hope for is a draw. Easter Monday’s results did us a few favours.

    Bristol City (H)

We’ve really missed Godden this season. We’d be all but safe by now had he played most of our games.

Just to get a general feel of things

The consensus in the EFL is that Robins is doing, and is continuing to do a brilliant job with the resources at hand. I think we’ll stay up and even if we don’t, MR has got enough credit in the bank to lead another promotion charge. If Rotherham stay up, it’ll be 2nd time lucky their manager...

    Dutch/Belgian league merge

Fair enough, poor choice of words because it's largely based on their performance this season and their form when they had that CL semi-final team. A more accurate thing for me to have said that Ajax will remain the preeminent team in a BeNe league.

    Dutch/Belgian league merge

Probably will be done among regional lines i.e. playoffs between Dutch and Belgian leagues. It seems like a good idea in principle as there are a good 8-10 teams in those leagues. But, I can’t see Ajax’s dominance being challenged anytime soon.
