If he was truly stubborn then he would be more likely to fit what players he has available to the same system. I get the impression a lot of people on here think you can just change systems and styles of play at the drop of a beat. You need some consistency of tactics and systems or players...

    Today’s games

How can anyone accuse Robins of being tactically stubborn? Anyone who’s followed us in his second spell can see we’ve changed systems several times. Real life football management is not like FIFA or Football Manager where changing tactics changes things at the click of the button.

    Today’s games

I wouldn’t rest on our laurels, but to get relegated at this point, we’d have to lose all our games whilst Derby and Rotherham need to win 50% of their remaining games. Even if we lose both away fixtures, it’d be surprising if we fail to pick up a single point from PNE or Millwall at home...

    Today’s games

Technically, we can be caught. But the likelihood of both Rotherham and Derby catching us up is not very probable. Frankly, Rotherham are running out of games to make the gap up and they’ve blew their chance of survival by losing to Wycombe, ourselves, Birmingham and drawing to Huddersfield in...

    Ben Sheaf future

With Sheaf, the decision MR has to make is how much he is willing to invest in his development to make it work. He’s had some good moments, some bad. But, 750k is not an insignificant sum to us so it may be worth looking elsewhere.

    Kelly and McFadzean

We’re 18th now and Biamou has been our main striker this season. He’s had some good games here and there, but does not have a killer instinct in front of goal. I have no doubt in my mind that had Godden played as many games as Biamou, we’d be higher up the table. This season, he’s 1 in 3.5...

    Kelly and McFadzean

What? I’d be more than happy to swap places with them. We have made a lot of mistakes this season by trying to play it around in defence. Yet, we’ve madequite a few of our goals by forcing errors from teams trying to play it from the back, the best example being against Brentford (H).

    Kelly and McFadzean

With 12 points left to play for, it obviously suggests that 17th is not our ceiling. Not to mention both our top scoring strikers haven’t been fit for most of this season. With the right additions, we’ll be decent mid table outfit with a solid foundation.

    Kelly and McFadzean

I think it depends on how we want to play going forwards. Undoubtedly, we’ve been more direct and feeding off of other teams mistakes. If we intend to play this way going forward, he can add a lot of value to the team defensively.

We’re 3 points from 14th as things stand now... it’s not even our ‘ceiling’ now.

    Ben Sheaf future

I think injuries / match fitness was the deciding factor to play 1 upfront. If Bakayoko looked like he was even close to scoring, I’m sure we would’ve played 2 strikers more often. Also, we should’ve been 2-0 up after about 10 minutes against Wycombe. We hardly ‘shit ourselves’, Wycombe dug...

    Kelly and McFadzean

They highlight the importance of leadership in a football team. Especially a team that is in a relegation scrap like ourselves. Although, if we’re to progress in the Championship, we really do need upgrades on these players.

    Do you consider us safe?

19th best away record in the league with the following teams to play; Barnsley, Brentford, Cardiff and Luton. The former two both have excellent home records. Rotherham really bottled it against Wycombe, ourselves and Birmingham. Taking 0 points from those 3 games has sealed their fate. We’ve...

Note to the doubters. All the best for rest of the season! I hope you finish strongly. As I mentioned before the game, our home record has been v good this season, and particularly against the Top 6. Only Norwich and Bournemouth have took all 3 points from us in the Top 10, with only Millwall...

Realistically, we’re safe. Despite Rotherham’s knack for getting a big win, they’ve lost Hopefully we can get positive results against Huddersfield and PNE to finish the season strongly.

Rotherham can’t even catch us if they win both their games in hand. They’re going to get relegated. They’ve bottled it against Wycombe, ourselves and Birmingham in the space of one week. I was nervous going into this week but all credit to Robins. Forget his past in the Championship, he’s...

If Godden had been fit all season, I’m certain we would be a few places further up the table. Quality finish despite being obviously off the pace.

100% deserves an extension but we still need be in the market for a younger version of him.

    Do you consider us safe?

Whilst I don’t think we’ll do a Barnsley, with the right additions, we should probably be a decent mid table-ish team. We just need to survive this year.
